This coronavirus outbreak continues to grow at an exponential rate. In fact, the number of cases is 14 times larger than it was just one week ago. Needless to say, if the number of cases continues to escalate at this pace, we are going to have a horrifying global pandemic of epic proportions on our hands very rapidly. But hopefully that wont happen. Hopefully the measures that global authorities have taken to slow the spread of the virus will work. But we are definitely in a race against time, and if they dont get this outbreak under control shortly we could soon be facing a worst case scenario.
As I was doing research for this article, I decided to find out how many confirmed cases there were in China one week ago. According to CNN, there were 547 as of last Wednesday
Five Chinese provinces reported additional cases of the Wuhan coronavirus on Wednesday, bringing the total number of people infected in mainland China to 547.
The worldwide number of cases has reached 555 on Wednesday.

It’s beyond exponential..................
Oh not to worry. Just stay focused on getting your fluvaccine. /s
And thats IF you take their numbers at face value.
Infowars is claiming China is lying to us and the number of cases is more like 30,000.
This tracking site from Johns Hopkins University gives us a more regular update:

In China, there are now 8,237 infections reported.
171 have died and 143 have recovered.
Shall we review what the epidemiologists of FR have been saying to the contrary?
Was there any quarantining going on a week ago?
You really can’t trust Chinese numbers. Let’s see how it expands in the US.
I don’t.................
But flu
Very small number of recovered.
At the end of the day, that is kinda what we are looking at here. However, it’s new, and we’re talking about china here. Now that it’s in the US, let’s see how fast it spreads here...
Kind of common sense to me.
China isnt gonna torpedo their economy for no reason. For something that is no big deal.
You’re really pimping that blog.
The current “official” number, as of just a few minutes ago was over 8100 and over 12,000 being watched, and just 132 declared cured with 171 deaths.
RE: Very small number of recovered.
Still better than nothing. It shows that this disease is not irrecoverable.
Those most likely to die of Wuhan virus fit the same profile as flu fatalities:
* People over 65,
* Those with compromised immune systems and
* Those with serious pre-existing conditions.
Two of the 17 Wuhan dead were 89-year-olds with pre-existing conditions; the youngest was 48 and suffering from diabetes and a stroke.
The mortality profile looks very similar to those who die of influenza.
That wonderfully 29% effective vaccine?
I think the first death in China was about Jan 15 - here we are 2 weeks later ...
