As infectious disease specialists and epidemiologists race to contain the outbreak of the novel coronavirus centered on Wuhan, China, they’re getting back up that’s been possible only since the explosion in genetic technologies: a deep-dive into the DNA of the virus known as 2019-nCoV.
Analyses of the viral genome are already providing clues to the origins of the outbreak and even possible ways to treat the infection, a need that is becoming more urgent by the day: Early on Saturday in China, health officials reported 15 new fatalities in a single day, bringing the death toll to 41. There are now nearly 1,100 confirmed cases there.
More bad news came in as expert claimes that deadly coronavirus can be spread through the EYES after he contracted the disease, despite wearing a protective mask.

We have never taken oregano oil orally. We tend to diffuse it while we sleep for respiratory viruses, and rub it on the feet while sleeping. Sometimes rubbing a little on their pajama chests so that they breathe it.
Orally I would also fear it depleting the good gut bugs who also help our immune functioning.
However , and o have not tried it, I could imagine good nasal irrigation with adding a drop to the water and salts. That would get to all the nasal throat passages without much if any ingestion.

As far as I know, influenza and common cold viruses also enter your body via the mucous membranes in your eyes.
Same prevention protocol for coronavirus...
Wash your hands frequently - do not touch your nostrils or rub your eyes.
And for extra credit - hold your breath and squint your eyes when people within breathing distance start coughing or sneezing.
This true for all viruses. I always keep my sunglasses on in the grocery, Costco etc.
Basic reality: People wear masks not to infect other, not to avoid getting a virus or germs.
Antibiotics are worthless to kill viruses, and anti viral drugs are worthless to kill bacteria.
A few years ago, I took a friend to her dr office. I didn’t touch a single thing- no door, didn’t sit down, nothing. I caught adenovirus and was deathly ill for over a week- respiratory problems, fever, aches like I have never felt before and freaking pinkeye! I couldn’t even get out of bed without assistance and had to have someone physically hold me up to stand and bear my weight just to get to the bathroom.
Ended up in urgent care and was told it is airborne. Coronavirus is terrifying to me.
I believe you are wrong. If the virus is airborne, it can enter through your eyes. People coughing will put their bodily fluids in the air.
That’s true of EVERY VIRUS.

Masks of n95 work to reduce Influenza transmission by preventing inhalation of droplets which carry viral particles into the mouth, nasal, and airway tract. Once lodged in that mucosa, the flu is able to take hold.

But if a coronavirus did land in your eye and you touched your eye with Oreganol oil, the burning hell of eye pain would be preferable to dying. At least after you recover.
believe it or not- I’ve intentionally put oregano oil on my eyelashes (Had an outbreak of lash mites- We all have them but sometimes they get too much and become annoying)
bottom line- oregano oil does NOT eliminate eyelash mites! I actually had to wash the oil out after 3 or so minutes- couldn’t stand i anymore-
None of whom are epidemiologists

through the eye after testing positive following an eye infection.
Mr. Wang was a leading figure in the fight against SARS virus that gripped China in 2003.
The doctor now says he believes he contracted the virus due to not donning protective eyewear.
