This is what Republicans are always up against with the corrupt news media. It’s been this way pretty much since the advent of television, in fact. So, while ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN/MSNBC have shown us play-by-play of the entirety of the Democrats’ ridiculous impeachment scam, with hour upon hour of Adam Schiff, Jabba the Nadler and the other house manager freak show guest stars, you can bet you will not see the same kind of wall-to-wall coverage of the Trump legal team presenting its case.
But that’s just part of the deal here. The Trump legal team is staffed with guys like Sekulow who know all of that and will be prepared.
And here’s the thing: That legal team has a golden opportunity to completely outshine the house managers and their endless repetition of a set of arguments so specious that any real judge would laugh them out of court. Schiff and company were out of new things to say about mid-day on Wednesday. Since then, their strategy has been to pound on the same array of stupidity and dishonesty over and over again, which has to be grating on the nerves of even the Democrat senators at this point.
So what are they doing to do today? Repeat the same old nonsense several more times, in an effort to make their pitifully inconsequential case appear to be more beefy by consuming the entire 24 hours allotted to them under the rule adopted for this trial. There are a lot of people in the Senate who are grumpy by nature – the house managers won’t want to be anywhere near them when they are finally done with this mindless Kabuki dance.
The President’s legal team will no doubt begin their part of this show on Saturday by offering a simple motion to dismiss, given that the Democrats have yet again utterly failed to demonstrate any real wrongdoing by President Trump. Assuming that motion fails – which at this point may or may not be a safe assumption – Trump’s lawyers should make their rebuttal case as vigorously and as efficiently as possible.
If it takes 24 hours to fully make that case, then fine, take the full 24 hours. But if the case can fully be made in 18 hours, or 12 hours, or 6 hours without the actual facts and arguments having to be repeated over and over again, then rest the case in 18 or 12 or 6 hours. Don’t make Chuck Schumer have to argue with the imaginary friend who keeps taking his chair any longer than he has to, and you might even pick up some votes to acquit by some of the Democrats’ nursing home contingent, like Pat Leahy and Dianne Feinstein.
Bottom line here: The Democrats are intent on taking their full 24 hours for the literal sake of filling 24 hours of time. President Trump’s legal team should take the time it really takes to make their case, and then let it rest.

People are complaining that the Trump team is not objecting to things that obviously should not be in the testimony. I was too. Then it hit me. The Trump team is playing by the rules of :never interrupt your opponent when they are digging their own hole.
It would be funny if the trump team played back the lies of Schiff, et al, during the last three days, one by one and then, after each one, show the testimony and evidence from the house trial that contradicts it.
By the end of one day thay would have an open and shut case that the democrats are creating a pile of lies - and the whole world would see it.
I think they are just letting the dems dig deeper, and deeper, all the while creating sound bites to be used against them.

I am very impressed by the Trump legal team and also impressed by Stephanopoulos being caught on tape ordering them to be cut off. Anyone thinking there is a semblance of objectivity in the media need only look at Democratic staff like him, Chuck Todd, Joe Lockhart and a whole series of bureaucratic bootlickers they pass off as commentators. No wonder no one watches CNN, MSNBC or the major “news” networks.
I heard it is a big no-no to interrupt the other side while they are presenting their case.
I hope you are correct. I hope that the defense team uses lots of visual aids as well as speech as they expose the lies of the Dem House managers.

The Rules prohibit any interruptions, objections, etc., so GOP has no choice.

If I were a betting person, I would bet against that. They ALWAYS get away with breaking rules. Also, Roberts clearly is a Never Trumper and won’t admonish anything they do. A couple days ago RATs were in the wrong, but Roberts scolded BOTH sides. Pathetic.
And then the media reports Trump defense team failing to defend Trump.
So predictable.
One of the pix that the demonRATs have in their slide show is chief injustice roberts with a little boy and a goat, but they save that one strictly for blackmail.
