The War Of Northam Aggression Backfires
CD Media ^ | 01/20/2020 | Court Anderson

Posted on 01/20/2020 4:49:10 PM PST by MAGAlady

World War III was a nothingburger. Thus far, Civil War II is similarly underwhelming.

Call it the Rubber-Glue Effect. Everything the left has tried lately has ultimately boomeranged and stuck to them in comical fashion. Insults and insinuations returning to visit harm on the heads of the accusers. In Richmond, the “violent white supremacists” even picked up their own garbage.

For a white supremacy march, they were awfully diverse. What do you call it when whites, blacks, gays, straights, Latinos, etc.–in other words, Americans–turn up at the alleged “celebration of hate”? A: you call it what it is, a rally for the cherished right to bear arms. Hell, even some Antifa members planned to march.

This rally had everything: “Black Guns Matter” shirts, “Guns Save Lives” stickers, a rainbow banner proclaiming “Gays For Guns.” A rally made necessary by devious state government, fronted by the ridiculous Ralph Northam.

Northam embodies the oft-pooh-poohed fear of originalists, constitutionalists, Second Amendment supporters, historians, and formerly oppressed emigrants: they want to take your guns. Not only were all of the aforementioned correct, but the folks who would do the taking–globalists, socialists, leftists–have dropped their collective (and collectivist) veil.

For a moment there, it was hip in some circles to openly state the gun-grab desire.

Former presidential candidate Robert O’Rourke made waves during the September, 2019 Democratic debate when he enthusiastically stated, “Hell yes we’re going to take your AR-15s!” In the weeks to follow, He was unable to present a cogent plan for said confiscation. Womp-womp.

Political pundits, myself included, have argued that O’Rourke was desperate for higher poll numbers and latched onto the gun issue in hopes of a game-changing national moment of solidarity. He misread the tea leaves.

Six weeks later, his campaign folded.

So why did Gov. Northam think that he would succeed in uniting, of all people, Virginians against robust 2A defense? Yes, the demographics of the state have changed, but even Democrats who want more gun control recognize that baldfaced efforts to take legally purchased firearms from taxpaying Americans is a nonstarter.

Nonetheless, Northam and the Virginia state congress pushed forward, thwarting efforts to censure and unseat them, as detailed excellently by CD Media here. Legal goalposts with restless legs, guns banned in strategically selected government buildings–and once it was clear the rally would occur, fences erected to control attendees.

This is junta behavior, banana republic-tier silliness. All we need to complete the picture is a photo of Northam smoking a cigar in a tan military uniform with epaulets, a monkey perched on his shoulder.

How did the thousands (estimates place the number between 13,000 and 25,000) of rally attendees respond? Like responsible, concerned citizens. Further, they didn’t take any bait, calling out agitators and behaving responsibly. The media narrative failed utterly.

It was perhaps surprising that a false flag event didn’t occur, or a mass arrest. On the other hand, it speaks to the power of a well-armed militia–and the bureaucratic fear thereof–that neither event came to pass. Of course, it helps when a gaggle of sheriffs turn out to support the citizens they protect.

In the end, Northam’s legal manipulations and the media’s sly suggestions of racism and violence only confirm what many of us believe. Their narrative underscores an ugly fact: they want our guns because they know Americans won’t go where they want us to without a fight.

Close. It’s a toss-up among, Northam, Nadler, and Schiff. All three are flaming Hate-America-First traitors. AOC and her gang are working on replacing these boomers.

I wouldn’t get too cocky over what I understand was a well-attended and peaceful rally.

Here’s what I think happened — Gov. Nazi Northam and his minions saw from the message traffic on forums like Free Republic that many Patriots were on to the possibility of a false flag operation.

Realizing that any shenanigans might boomerang on them, the commies called off their provocateurs.

That’s just a theory, and I make no claims for its accuracy other than the well-documented history of Left-wing lawlessness and deceit.

For we surely know that the Left will try anything it thinks it can get away with. In this case, enough Patriots sent up enough signal flares to warn others.

But that doesn’t hide the fact that the whole situation was ripe for catastrophe — and the Left will be looking to mount future ambushes, perhaps in rural areas where anti-gun violence would be least expected.

I suggest that all believing FReepers say a prayer or two in thanksgiving. Civil War II may yet come. But at least it didn’t come today.

“Well, I don’t know what you’re getting at.”

As much as I...and millions of others...romanticize the Southern cause, I am fully aware that the South was and is fully capable of producing the filthiest of politicians. Clear?

I, for one, am indeed thankful that today went as well as it did.

Well, I was referring to Virginia.

Northam actually appears to have come from Virginia.

Unfortunately, he seems to have avoided getting any real *Virginia* into his blood.

I don’t remember whether he was the one in blackface or the one in the Klan getup. I don’t really care about what idiot young men do in their stupid youths.

But when they achieve elected office and violate their oaths to the Constitution, I become aroused - and not in the ‘happy’ way.

Democrats have total control of the VA legislature, executive and judicial branches. They could not care less about what the rest of the state outside NoVa has to say about anything. They will punch in tomorrow and pass even more restrictive laws.
There could have been 2,000,000 people there and they will return and pick up where they left off.
He will be cheered by the democrats as he signs away their rights and raise their taxes.
This energy better not wane because VA is one election away from becoming San Fran on the Potomac. Anything short of a clean sweep will be fatal.

Couldn’t anything they or he do, be challenged before the Supremes?

All of their 'new' gun law crap has already been addressed by the SCOTUS and rejected!

They are just ignoring it!

It is settled that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms that applies against both the Federal Government and the States.
District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U. S. 570 (2008);
McDonald v. Chicago, 561 U. S. 742 (2010).

District of Columbia v. Heller

Some have made the argument, bordering on the frivolous, that only those arms in existence in the 18th century are protected by the Second Amendment.

We do not interpret constitutional rights that way.

Just as the First Amendment protects modern forms of communications, and the Fourth Amendment applies to modern forms of search, the Second Amendment extends, prima facie, to all instruments that constitute bearable arms, even those that were not in existence at the time of the founding.

McDonald v. City of Chicago

A case in which on June 28, 2010, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled (5–4) that the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms,” applies to state and local governments as well as to the federal government.

We found the argument “that only those arms in existence in the 18th century are protected by the Second Amendment” not merely wrong, but “bordering on the frivolous.” Instead, we held that “the Second Amendment extends, prima facie, to all instruments that constitute bearable arms, even those that were not in existence at the time of the founding.”

Heller defined the “Arms” covered by the Second Amendment to include “‘any thing that a man wears for his defence, or takes into his hands, or useth in wrath to cast at or strike another.’”

So, I guess this is just like the impeachment: they know they’ve got nothing, and are just trying to make more scary *noise* to try and influence the vast legions of people whose ignorance they believe that they can count upon.

It backfired big time. There were virtually all races, all political parties and people of all stripes at that rally. The Sheriffs were also protesting!

There was a flag from Hong Kong presennt!

Indeed. Sad that they not only have the governorship, but both houses of Congress as well. They would never vote to remove him.
