There are now over 100 million Amazon Prime members.
Therefore, a lot of trucks are needed to get those good from here to there and from there to here.
I'm seeing more and more of them out on the roadways.
I bought a book from them in 1995 when they were just a small outfit. It was the 1994 edition of PASSPORT TO WORLD BAND RADIO.
And you get more - Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Prime Music, Amazon Prime Books, Amazon Prime Wardrobe and Amazon Prime Pantry.
Anything you want, they make the hassle of you getting in your car and driving the mall to shop obsolete.
Whatever you order you get the next day and movies and books you get instantly!
Funny you should post this.
Just a few minutes ago, I heard beeping on my street. I peeked out the window to see an Amazon Prime van backing up in our cul de sac to make a delivery somewhere on the block. On a Sunday night no less.

USPS took all of FedExs business. My mail carrier was delivering Amazon on Sunday the weeks prior to Christmas. Im sure were subsidizing Bezos with our taxes to the tune of hundreds of millions. But damn, Amazon is convenient.
Free shipping is worth the cost on multiple orders. 100 million people cant be wrong.

Don't like Bezos or his politics, but have been an Amazon customer since the 90's.
Oh, they’re delivering stuff my Hub orders......LOL
...and commensurately more and more empty storefronts on main street, disappearing ‘magic mile’ shops and even empty storefronts in major US urban centers...
Retail real estate is in for a major earthquake. Replaced by those trucks and cardboard boxes.
I bet the DOT boys see a lot of revenue to be made by pulling those trucks over for inspection - constantly.
They have a distribution center across from my company’s warehouse. They must have 50 Sprinter vans running in and out in caravan.
Amazon is the MOST AMAZING company EVER!! I am with you about Bezos but this company regardless of Bezos or because of Bezos is the best company on the planet!! I buy EVERYTHING and I mean everything except groceries on Amazon I ordered 3 items yesterday and they were on my doorstep today, I dont know how they do it, simply AMAZING!!!
I get free shipping but I don't have "prime." (I order books once a month or more and just wait 'til the ones I want cost more together than $25.) I really don't need books within 24 hours, or even a week.

Over the past year, it’s gotten more common to see dark gray Amazon Prime Mercedes Sprinter delivery vans (brand new ones too) than any other delivery service including FedEx and UPS. They’re everywhere here (North Carolina).
My Realistic DX-160 was my baby! Saved up for it from my paper route.
Amazon/Bezos did a good deed for we vets last Veteran's Day by offering 1/3 off of one year Prime membership.
They signed a contract with Rivian to buy 100,000 electric delivery vehicles.
On a typical Sunday in Columbia, I see two or three Amazon vans running around.
Their Prime van/limo has been on our Cul de Sac 3 times today. My wife want to check my temp to see if I was okay as we had no orders delivered.
We are getting more of their automatic orders with products where we can predict their useage.
For local delivery, in two years (2018-2019),
Amazon bought 30,000 sleek high-top vans.
Around a billion dollars worth.
