German climate blogger Snow Fan here presents some background on Australian bush fires.
It turns out that the 1974/75 bush fires were considerably larger in area than the 2019/20 bush fires we have been witnessing.
The Australian bush fires of 2019/20 have seen an area as big as southern Germany (see above). But in 1974/75, they covered an area as large as France and Spain combined! Source: www.wetteronline.de.
On the completely exaggerated climate alarm in the German media on the current bush fires in Australia, a pleasantly objective report from WetterOnline: In the summer of 1974/1975, an area in Australia burned to the tune of about the size of Spain and France. For the sake of perspective: Bush fires are generally nothing unusual in the Australian summer. Often large areas are affected. The last time a huge fire raged was in February 2009. The so-called Black-Saturday-bush fires killed over 170 people and destroyed 1800 houses. [ ] Since the beginning of the great bush fires in October 2019, more than 100,000 square kilometres of land burned throughout Australia, which is roughly the size of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg combined. Thousands of houses were destroyed.'
Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg have a combined area of around 105,000 square kilometers, so theres no doubt this seasons bush fires have been devastating.
But WetterOnline reminds Australia has seen much worse:
In the summer of 1974/1975 the flames burned over an area of about one million square kilometers. This corresponds to an area about three times the size of Germany.

Bushfires or wildfires are mainly happening due to environmental restrictions against proper management of our lands. This is true in the U.S. and Australia. Fire is a natural part of the eco-system and removing fire has greatly increased the danger to nature - not just mankind.
Based on the actions of environmentalist and the wrong-headed ideas they have there are large areas of the world that will remain vulnerable to mega-fires and too few people seem to understand the science of forest management or admit the necessity of controlled burning, thinning, and the necessity for diversity within an individual forest. Too few understand that nature herself will correct the problem through fire and insects/disease when a forest is not actively managed and even natural fires are suppressed.
Sadly, instead of having an honest discussion and listening to educated people who understand forestry and implementing healthy solutions, this subject has become another boogie-man for people selling a lie - global warming.
If you can remember back to around 1957, public service announcements with Smokey the Bear warned how every year wildfires in the US, if put together would cover the entire state of Louisiana. That is over 33 million acres.
Since that time, most fires never pass 9-15 million acres, but the news media make it sound like the end of the world.
Well, they say it was worse in 1974/1975.
I am not so sure about that.
It was a KOALA-CAUST!!!
That’s not fair, in 74/75 we were in the Middle of the New Ice Age

It’s seems strange that our “reporters” never report that the burning trees in Australia’s forests are mostly highly flammable oil-rich eucalyptus trees.
I guess they don’t want to remind anyone that California’s “wild-fires” mostly burn chaparral, a highly flammable creosote-rich shrub.
“We don’ need no steeenking facts”.

The weather reporters today are constantly saying “record breaking” this and that. They lie.
Last Sunday, The Weather Channel said Australia’s winter temperature getting up to 104 degrees proved globull warming.
Who knew it was winter time in Australia?
Great article puts the fires in context here:
Why not use a map of Australia?
Yeah but global warming/climate change wasn’t happening then (/sarc)
To Millenials anything that happened before 1980 doesn’t matter.
74/75. Just before the cold late 70’s up here in North America.
It’s turned into ‘over turn the last election’ thing here now. The globalists never miss an opportunity and the fires have given them one. Full court press against the PM. Back in 1851, fires in Victoria burned out 5 million hectares. That is about the
same size of all the fire burn outs in the whole of Australia at the moment. The media pukes job today is to hide historical events, unless they support the current propaganda drive
