Remember when you could watch TV like this during the Christmas season? Here it is in its entirety. God bless us, everyone.
Oh, and the scene when old Scrooge sings a duet with his boyhood self is amazing.
This is my childhood! I love this one.
Producers, Cast: Henry G. Saperstein, Jule Styne, Bob Merill, Jim Backus, Barbara Chain, Abe Levitow. Five of six were Jewish. Where would Christmas in multimedia be without Jews? (White Christmas: Irving Berlin, etc)
I was born in ‘68 and remember watching it VERY early on.
It’s a Great memory and heartwarming.
From a time when heartwarming wasn’t a bad word and every show didn’t have to have an agenda.
Merry Christmas!!
..wife and I just finished watching the 1951 Alastair Sim version—the best IMHO...
We connected a laptop to the big screen and all enjoyed it SO MUCH during dinner!!
THANK YOUR VERY MUCH!!
THANK YOUR VERY VERY MUCH!!
THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH!!
That’s the nicest thing that anyone’s ever done for me :)
-What a great ending :)
Merry Christmas!
Such memories with that song!
Of Hot Chocolate in original Santa Clause mugs, red and white Mrs Santa nightgowns made by my mother for we four girls, the silver tree with rotating lights (one sister had an extreme allergy to the real trees), opening one gift prior to bedtime and enjoying the Christmas overkill as we all called it.
My mom would do up the house with more Christmas stuff than a old fashioned Woolworth store! My dad would have Christmas music on the reel-to-reel set-up he had and my older brother was just a pain in the tush.
Though I have learned to appreciate the beauty of classical Christmas songs over the years, Snoopy’s Christmas vs The Red Baron explained to me on a really personal basis the concept of being able to look at your declared enemy as a human being.
Strange how a song can affect someone’s perception.
I remember seeing it as a very young child in the early sixties...REALLY early sixties.
Ahh, another memory awakened. Thx!
“THANK YOUR VERY MUCH!!”
You are very welcome!! I need to watch it, too, before the holidays come to an end!
