North Korea has again conducted what’s being called a “crucial test” at its Sohae Satellite Launching Ground.
This test, which occurred Friday night according to the North Korea’s official news agency, is said to be one which will strengthen the country’s “reliable strategic nuclear deterrent”.
North Korea has been demanding a response from the US by year’s end or else it will change its direction away from negotiations on its nuclear program.
The US envoy for North Korea Stephen Biegun is visiting South Korea in the coming days to attempt to keep the dialogue with North Korea going and he may visit the border to talk with North Korean officials.

A rocket attack at the Baghdad International Airport this week injured five members of an Iraqi counter-terrorism force trained by the United States.

There a report that a troop withdrawal will be announced in Afghanistan before Christmas this year.
Some 4-thousand involved.
A year ago we went through the process of being told about a withdrawal in Syria that turned out to be a partial one in the end but one creating a vacuum in northeastern Syria as the Turks moved in followed (at the invitation of the Kurds) by the deployment of Syrian troops and Russian military police into the area.
A big problem for the POTUS is northwest Syria were he has claimed that Russia, Syria and Iran do bad things like hurt civilians when they fight the Saudi-Qatari Al Qaeda Movement forces there.
Keeping the Russian air force and the Syrian forces off the jihadists and keeping them from annihilating the jihadist opposition to the Assad government a challenge.
This opening in northeastern Syria forces the redeployment of forces away from the jihadist enclave in northwestern Syria.
In a backhanded way this was acknowledged in a “Southfront” article published the other day regarding a potential jihadist attack on Aleppo.
“These developments suggest that the militants are preparing a large-scale attack in southwest Aleppo, or even on the city itself. Such an attack is highly possible due to the suspension of major SAA operations in Greater Idlib”
So by letting the Turks into northeastern Syria Trump ended up drawing the Syrian army and their Russian supporting cast of military police and aircraft that way and away from the Saudi-backed jihadists in northwestern Syria.

This weekend I’m looking at some historical material celebrating 40 years of broadcasting in Austria published back in 1964. This is an expanded edition of a weekly publication and it includes radio and television schedules for Austria and nearby countries.
Not a lot of television only a few hours a day in Austria back then on one channel with a second channel operating for a few hours three days a week.
