In 2019, Birmingham, Alabama has reported a justifiable homicide rate 53 times the national average, as reported in the FBI Uniform Crime Reports.
11 of the reported homicides were ruled justifiable as self-defense by investigators or prosecutors and 3 resulted from reckless driving. The suspect in another murder was shot to death on the scene and another killed himself. One death resulted from a violent act committed the previous year. One other homicide took place at the Jefferson County Jail outside the city's jurisdiction. The police department, therefore, acknowledges 82 chargeable homicides. Suspects have been identified in 49 of those cases, arrested in 46 and charged in 41. Charges in one case were dismissed.
When justifiable homicides are carefully tracked, there are found to be more than five times as many as the FBI UCR records.

My daughter as a single woman, has been all over the world by herself, in major cities in a number of countries.
She is very smart and careful. She said she never really felt unsafe as long as she followed proper protocol. About 10 years ago I was helping her move from California back to the USA (Kentucky). On the road trip we spent the night in Memphis. Went down to Beale Street. She said later that she never felt as unsafe in any city as she did in Memphis. She said it actually spooked her.
I am thinking this is a single frame from a movie or TV show. In that case the bullets are invisible and the gun will shoot like a semi-auto.

Memphis is dangerous. We took a cross country road trip several years ago from E.TN to Montana. On the way home we got lost in Memphis and had to spend the night. Gun shots were going off all night all around us. We both slept with a pistol next to us and a chair under the door. Never again!
