That NYT live news feed was linked repeatedly here on FR that night. I’d also point out that the NYT would have no reason to post a fake story about George Conway at the time. I never even heard of the guy until months later when I started seeing his name posted as a potential nominee for the Solicitor General post in the DOJ.

I agree with you there. I've seen the two being interviewed as a couple on TV during the Dubya administration, and when they were talking Bush policies, they would argue and disagree. But as soon as their children were mentioned, their eyes both list up and they were lovey dovey. Seeing James make googlie eyes at Mary was sort of creepy, but she loved it, and I do believe they both love each other.

Well she is convinced he is the greatest lawyer in the world (tried to get him appointed Solicitor General) so she may fear him taking her kids away from her. They are also Catholic, so do not divorce lightly (if devout).
