(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion or satire. Or both.)

Hi Mrs Sessions....good to be nostalgic occasionally....particularly on a rainy night in Maryland.

You can tell I'm an old fart. I thought Company B was a remake of the Andrews Sister's "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B."

Disco was fun music, wasn’t it? I don’t care that many didn’t like it. They didn’t have to.
A similar catchy beat of that time, something you might like
is “Won’t You Take Me To FunkyTown?” by Lipps Inc.
Fun, funky and very well produced.
Not sure it those are real strings in the background , Mellotrons or Farfasia Synthesizers with a Cello sound.

Thank you, so much.
Actually, (spoiler alert) I don’t mind getting Rick Rolled. I love that video.

It both was and wasn’t a Rick Roll.
It does not get much cheesier in the 80’s.
Make sure to check out the link I posted above that.
Guaranteed to make you go “What The Hell?”

Every kind of popular music has it’s purpose. It’s ideal mood. I liked many different types of music back then, now too. Three favorites from back then:
A. Lou Reed. Listen to his Berlin Album. I never knew it existed until a saw it while in Rota, Spain, during my Navy days.
B. Led Zepplin: KASMIR !!! So powerful, yet so graceful!
I could listen to that Sitar’s dirge all day long.
C. Leo Kottke: A friend of mind from West Virginia introduced me to Leo. His baritone ballads, his slide acoustic 12 string guitars. Listen to him sing “Eight Miles High” You won’t forget it.

I'll see you that bet and raise you
this one. And I warn you, I can play a mean mouth trumpet to it.
