There is no doubt when Don Cherry and elderly old stock Canadians, so detested by the left, are gone Remembrance Day will be no more
A few things occurred in the lead up to the November 11 Remembrance Day ceremonies this year. These events are proof positive the day set aside for those who fought for Canada, many making the ultimate sacrifice, is on the way out. During these times it is simply too politically incorrect to honour the countrys military.
The major occurrence was what Don Cherry, former hockey player, NHL coach and Canadas number one patriot said on the Nov. 9 edition of Coachs Corner. Cherry talked about how few people wear poppies these days. He said:
Perhaps our nation was wise changing Armistice Day to Veterans Day although we may have done it a bit too soon. But veterans of the Great War are gone, and even those who remember them are getting thin on the ground. That said, the Commonwealth nations kept the poppy tradition going a lot longer than we did. Was watching a Premiership rugby matchthe players had a stylized poppy on their uniforms.
