Cmon, Alabama GOP voters cant you do better than this? The must useless attorney general in American history, Jeff Sessions, announced on Thursday that he will seek to regain his old senate seat in the 2020 election. Presumably not satisfied with the way his do-nothing tenure at DOJ ended, Sessions now wants Alabama voters to allow him to write a different, hopefully more positive end to what had been a pretty solid political career prior to 2017.
After spending two solid years doing literally nothing related to trying to bring the members of the DOJ/FBI/CIA coup cabal to justice, its pretty hard to make a case that Sessions deserves any sort of a second chance from Alabama voters. Though he did have a solid record as a real conservative during his years in the senate, Sessions mendacity during his term as AG should be disqualifying.
He enters a crowded race for the Republican senate nomination, joining a field that already includes the terminally goofy Roy Moore and former Auburn head football coach Tommy Tubberville, among others. Moore, of course, was the candidate who was so inept and damaged by scandal that he actually managed to lose an Alabama senate seat to a damn Democrat, the putrid Doug Jones.
Conservatives across the country are hoping against hope that Alabama GOP voters can nominate someone who can regain the seat, and maybe Sessions is that guy. Rewarding Sessions disloyal performance as President Trumps attorney general by giving him back his senate seat will inevitably leave a very bad taste in every Trump supporters mouth, but if that is the price that must be paid in order to maintain a GOP senate majority, then so be it.
Kanye, 2024? Dont laugh. If youve been paying close attention, you knew that this was pretty much inevitable. Are you ready for First Lady Kim Kardashian? If not, youd better start preparing yourself.
In an appearance at the Fast Company Innovation Festival in New York City on Thursday, Kanye West had this to say:
When I run for president in 2024, were going to definitely- yo whatchu all laughing at? West reacted to the laughing crowd. When I run for president in 2024, we wouldve created so many jobs that, in fact, Im going to walk.
What Im saying is, when yall read the headlines, Kanyes crazy, this and that, this and that, its like one in three African Americans are in jail and all of the celebrities are in jail also because they cant say nothing! Theyve got no opinion! Theyre so scared!
Granted, interpreting what comes out of Kanyes mouth is a bit of an art form; but then, the same could be said about Donald Trump, the guy who happens to be President of the United States. It is a mistake to assume that Mr. West is just shooting off his mouth here, and that he really isnt planning to go into presidential politics. Frankly, I think it is more likely than not that that is exactly his intention.
After all, Kanye and his wife Kim Kardashian have achieved more from a public policy perspective during 2019 than anyone currently in the Democrat presidential field. Lets all remember that the couple were the driving force behind the criminal justice reform bill passed into law earlier this year, the single biggest piece of legislation moved by the current congress. Yes, it will sound absurd to some, but they have already demonstrated that they deserve to be taken far more seriously than someone like Tom Steyer or Preacher Pete or even Bernie Sanders, who has gotten no major legislation done during his 30+ years in the U.S. Senate.
Everyone needs to recognize that Donald Trump, the most unorthodox nominee in American history and a man who won his election with a campaign staff of about a dozen people and the sheer force of his will, changed this countrys presidential political paradigm, probably forever. Trump will be re-elected in 2020 and serve out his two full terms in office. After that, it is far more likely that the GOP nominee in 2024 will be some other completely unorthodox candidate than some standard-issue politician, and another wipeout in 2020 will make it more likely that the Democrat Party will also start looking for an unorthodox candidate of its own.
For either party, that person could be someone as minimally-unorthodox as, say, Ted Cruz or an Oprah Winfrey, or it could be someone as radically unorthodox as Kanye West. Keep in mind, that, when he and Melania rode down that escalator at Trump Tower back in 2015, President Trump was considered to be so radically unorthodox that literally no one in the DC Swamp took him seriously.
So now the definition of what it means to be radically unorthodox has shifted, thanks to Trumps election. Rather than laugh about the prospect, as most in the GOP no doubt are doing today about Kanyes remarks, the Republican Party needs to recognize that Mr. West has an enormous following, made up in large part of African Americans who are fed up with 50 years of empty promises made by the Democrats.
These are people who are sick and tired of life on the liberal plantation, and of demagogic hucksters like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson pretending to speak for their entire segment of the population. With Democrat voter fraud efforts growing larger and larger with each passing election cycle, devising more and more ways to enable the expanding population of illegal aliens to cast votes for Democrats, the GOP must recognize that it should be actively courting West and his support base rather than insulting them and pushing them away.
So, laugh at Kanye and Kim if you want to; just recognize that by doing so you are are laughing away a huge political opportunity.
That is all.
Well, if it comes down to Kanye vs. Senator (Insert RINO Here) , I have to say I’d probably vote Kanye.
KW would certainly get more votes....I’m sure of it.
Brilliant. I would love to see KW take on Judas Sessions.
That would be an ass whipping of monumental proportions.
Please clap?
> First Lady Kim Kardashian
OMG!
sessions was a bad fit for AG, but he was a reliable conservative vote in the senate.
. . . and he didn’t date 14 year olds when he was 30, which is apparently something we need to keep a good eye on.
I read that Kanye said he was going to run for president in 2024.
I cannot discern how Kanye would be any worse than 80% of the Congress, or 4 of the last 5 Presidents.
Amazing how many freepers want to give Sessions one more chance to shiv President Trump.
Sessions is the core cause of the effective loss of efficacy of the first 2.5 years or Trump’s term. Recused himself immediately and launched the Special Counsel investigation.
He also let DOJ and FBI run wild.
Worthless and should not be rewarded with anew term.
Besides, when he talks he sounds like a 1st grader sounding out words he has never heard before. He was an embarrassment.
I won't automatically discount him, because he is a self made millionare, if not billionare, so he has to have business sense along with artistic sense.
There was a thread last night that ran almost 200 posts with lots of support for Sessions, unbelievable how R voters can be as stupid as D voters.
Kanye West? First lady Kim Kardashian?
Two words: porno tape. (Sorry, but, the facts)
“he didnt date 14 year olds when he was 30”
But now it’s ok to have sex with a 16-17 year old when you are 59, at least if you marry her soon after...
/ a very bad taste in every Trump supporters mouth /
Not EVERY Trump supporter, Dave.
Nay, not even a super majority.
Kanye is serious in my opinion. He has a strategy and is currently implementing it. Doesn’t mean it’s going to work but I do think he’s seriously considering a run
I also wouldn’t discount Rush Limbaugh out of hand if Trump wins 2020
And it didn't matter.
After eight years of Trump, will anybody want to go back to having a POTUS that is an establishment politician? A stiff?
I think Kanye West has a real shot in 2024. I'm taking him very seriously.
