Ugh—the changes are horrible. And it is dark too early in the winter when we are off DST. We should just stay on it year-round.

There are nice things about each time of year , which you point out to us. It’s nice to think positive.

.... days will now be shorter until April

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Actually, you don’t have to wait until April ... daylight savings time begins March 8 in 2020.

In Florida they passed a bill to make DST year round, like Arizona. Its differentnt in a warmer climate, and most people including the republican governor DeSantis support making DST permanent.

Hate DST. Nothing is saved, just time shifted. Gimme an extra hour a day and we’ll talk...

No the days have been getting shorter since June 22, and will begin to get longer on December 22. All that’s happening tomorrow is a bunch of people will change what their clock SAYS. The single stupidest exercise in the world.

I am in Arizona, where we do not participate. I am only affected because I remote in and my employer is on east coast time.

To me it just makes more sense to change the time of your activities instead of engaging in the legal fiction that midday doesn’t really mean midday.

The days are getting shorter because the sun is moving further south of the celestial equator--how we set our clocks has nothing to do with the length of the day.

If you want the day to be the same length all year long, there is a simple solution--move to the equator. Days are 12 hours and nights are 12 hours all year long there.

I have always felt that Daylight Savings Time is a crime against nature.

I read your whole post and thought you were being sarcastic. Sun comes up, sun goes down, it really doesn’t matter when I set my activities and schedule to accomadate the earth’s rotation on its axis as it goes around the sun. The activities change and when I drive with headlights changes. I’m glad you like this fall back, spring forward stuff. Me? Not so much.

They just put that hour on the other end of the day - sort of like cutting 12 inches off one end of a blanket and sewing it on the other making it a longer blanket.

I used to like Daylight Saving Time. Now it does not matter. I’m on Retirement Saving Time. My time is totally mine. I have no where to be if I don’t want to. I’ll enjoy this for as long as it lasts.

I told the dog already but I think he’s gonna want out early as always.

Apparently dogs don’t care about daylight savings time.

Stay on standard time 365 or split the difference to the half hour all year. Just STOP the change.

Leave it to the government to think that they are powerful enough to give everyone extra daylight and the idiots who actually believe it!

Noon was actually defined, once upon a time, and had a meaning. Daylight Savings time was created by government to save energy, which in today’s world it does not, it costs energy. There are also real costs to switching clocks and schedules twice a year.

The seasons have a natural flow with noon meaning, within certain timezone bounds, that the sun is about due south on the meridian each day. Rather than forcing unnecessary costs on everyone else, if you don’t like the flow to the seasons where you live - change your latitude and move closer to the equator.

Standard Time is logical and has a meaning. Daylight saving time is just a mess.

I hate DST.

It screws with the point of time.
It ignores the astronomical basis.
It takes away an hour of morning light.
It messes up time based systems whose clocks are hard to change.
It forces the will of some on others.
It disrupts those who don’t understand (children, animals).
It wastes time just updating clocks.
It annoys developers who have to code software to address it.

If you want to change your schedule, go ahead.
Leave my clock alone.
