if you have been paying attention, this was an obvious action by the socialists in California.
First put onerous regulations on the Utility Companies, then when the wildfires happen and burn down hundreds of homes, the legal damages cause the Utility Companies to go bankrupt resulting in Government run Utility Companies....which putting the Government in the business of owning utility companies will solve all the problems.
Moscow winks
A twofer. The investors lose their investment and the people of CA lose their electricity.
I really feel sorry for the remaining Conservatives in that state.
5.56mm
Build another wall.
Divert the Colorado river.
Seriously, I am beginning to wonder when California will attempt to secede, and openly invite in Red China to back them up.
I watched channel 7 out of LA last night interviewing people. One view presented. P G and E bad...Then they went to their god, Newsome and worshipped him. That place is amazing.
We should petition Jim and John to co-locate the FR servers OUT of California - like Texas or another Land-of-the-Free state (Florida?)
BEFORE Gov Nusance gets his mitts on the grid.
One of the main tenets of liberalism is that companies should not be able to make a profit off of things that are essential to living...
For example medicine and healthcare, the liberals tell you it’s immoral to make a profit off of someone being sick..
Same goes for electricity, it’s immoral to make a profit for something that is essential to living a normal life
I really hope they do it!
Ya and 3% of people in California understand that
Watch For Upcomming law suits
The medias coverage on this disaster besides not mentioning the results of grounds keeping brush and dead wood clearance maintenance Also.never covers the other results of power blackouts offs. besides food spolilage
Many of those homes because they are in a fire prone areas in rural areas did install fire suppression sprinkler systems which were dependent on the power grid never considered power back up systems in case of extended period black outs.
I would actually love to see California Democrats in Sacramento try to take over PG&Es vast electrical transmission system and run it !
that would be beyond hilarious
The little known fact to folks outside CaliforniaIs that we have a bunch of little municipal utilities here too : Lodi electric , Turlock irrigation district , Modesto irrigation district , SMUD the Sacramento municipal utility District and so on and so forth
They do not have to listen to Sacramento and these idiot politicians and are not regulated by them
Top tier residential here is 60 cents per kWh. Lowest is 28c.
Saboteurs and hoarders.
“...pass laws that bankrupt them, then nationalize them...”
It’s in ‘Atlas Shrugged’.
CA has already been renamed Califzuela, that why I bailed and moved closer to its namesake
The nails have already been hammered in to the retirement coffin. PG&E hit a high of $71.50 two years ago. It closed yesterday at 6 1/2. That ship has sailed (and sunk)
Not sure if this is viable, but could the DOE, (using the Commerce Clause), take over the PG&E. Consider that PG&E electricity is exported into other states making it an interstate utility.
Would love to hear from attorneys on this.
Heck - they may want to go beyond the Venezuela model - then they can say they have proof Socialism is better than what we got....
