In case you haven't heard, this lad named Shepard Smith apparently quit on FoxNews today.

Posted on 10/11/2019 2:20:10 PM PDT by SamAdams76

I love this time of year. Just got done with a brisk walk on this crisp, cool, cloudy autumn day in Southern Connecticut. All the leaves turning colors and gently falling to the ground. If you are like me, you try to catch them as they fall around you. Swirling in the wind, the leaves are more tricky to catch than you might think. But what to do when you do catch one? I just put it in my pocket for a while and then eventually I pull it out and let it fall to the ground further away then it would normally have done.

It's the school season and my walk coincided with the school buses coming through and dropping off their kids. So at every bus stop, there was this cluster of idling mini-vans and SUVs idling on the side of the road waiting for the big yellow bus. It seems that no child is allowed these days to get off the bus and walk into their homes on their own two feet. No! Instead, they must be immediately herded into another motor vehicle and whisked off to some planned activity (i.e. karate practice, music lesson, etc.) or delivered to the very door of their home, which might only be a half a block away.

I have actually seen parents literally drive to the end of their driveway in order to retrieve their child off the bus. Then they will back right into the garage with their child. I kid you not.

Helicopter parents...I can go on. When I was a boy and in Little League, I think my parents went to maybe 2 or 3 actual games. Otherwise, I was on my own. Practice was entirely on me. I'd ride my bike to and from the practices with my baseball glove hanging off the handlebars. These days, every Little League practice is accompanied by parents in lawn chairs who have coolers of cold drinks and snacks at the ready for their child. Yes, during practice, many of the players will run over to their parents for a few sips of soda or some sort of snack to tide them over. And there is NOTHING the coach can do about it.

If I had run off the field in one of my Little League practices, my coach would have kicked me off the team and told me to come back when I was ready to take playing ball seriously.

But I digress. Back to fall. This is when the bees and yellow jackets get especially aggressive. I try to sit on my patio taking in the cool breezes and foliage but these bees are everywhere, climbing on my glass of beer or trying to get into my bowl of peanuts. I've been stung three times over the past five years, always in the fall. Never in summer, when bees are more docile and tend to mind their own business.

Finally, not sure if there is a thread already posted here regarding some fluffy-haired, effeminate news-reader named Shepard Smith, who apparently quit FoxNews earlier today. Anyway, I don't have cable TV anymore so it don't matter much to me but this might be a big deal for others so thought I'd get the word out. Good day.

Maybe the health inspector finally got around to declaring Shep’s anal leakage soaked chair cushions an environmental hazard and Shep couldn’t bear to part with them since he finally got them to the squishiness he likes.

So it's said on 8 other threads of the topic.

Fox News anchor Shepard Smith is stepping down, the network said Friday in a statement.

“Recently I asked the company to allow me to leave FOX News and begin a new chapter. After requesting that I stay, they graciously obliged. The opportunities afforded this guy from small town Mississippi have been many,” Smith said in a statement. “It’s been an honor and a privilege to report the news each day to our loyal audience in context and with perspective, without fear or favor. I’ve worked with the most talented, dedicated and focused professionals I know and I’m proud to have anchored their work each day—I will deeply miss them.”

“Shep is one of the premier newscasters of his generation and his extraordinary body of work is among the finest journalism in the industry. His integrity and outstanding reporting from the field helped put FOX News on the map and there is simply no better breaking news anchor who has the ability to transport a viewer to a place of conflict, tragedy, despair or elation through his masterful delivery,” said Jay Wallace, President & Executive Editor of Fox News Media, in a statement.

“We are proud of the signature reporting and anchoring style he honed at FOX News, along with everything he accomplished here during his monumental 23-year tenure. While this day is especially difficult as his former producer, we respect his decision and are deeply grateful for his immense contributions to the entire network.”

Probably not liberal enough and not enough of a Trump hater.
+++++
Nobody could expect to match Chris Wallace when it comes to Trump-Hating. A close second but no cigar.

This isn’t April 1 so I’m hoping the story is true.

I tuned in to The Five a minute early today. I heard Cavuto saying goodbye to Shep and thought ‘huh, Shep Smith must be gone’. Cavuto sounded REALLY SAD. I don’t really care why, just glad he’s gone. Also glad Cavuto seems sad.....he’s a never-Trumper.

RSBN on air awaiting TRUMP Louisiana Rally.

The commentator made a point to mention the fact that SS was leaving Fox. Can it be? After old Shep, who might be next?
What’s the story? Did his slip show or did he feel the need to spend more time with this family?

btw, when i noted this situation to mrs. catnipman, she pointed out that dipping the fruit fly out with a spoon would be the best and most reasonable solution ...
