Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) These impeachment polls are very mysterious and confusing. Until you look at the details, that is. – The increasingly-trending-left Fox News came out with a “bombshell” new poll on impeachment Wednesday which Bret Baier solemnly told us shows that 51% of those polled favor both impeachment and removal from office. Baier further said that is an increase of 9% over an earlier poll taken before any of this nonsense about Ukraine broke. Which basically means that every leftist nitwit in the country has always wanted him impeached and removed, which should surprise no one.
This seems pretty strange since the President’s public approval rating in this poll and basically every other poll is essentially the same as it was in August. So, I decided to go take a look into the bowels of the results and guess what I discovered? Fully 48% of this poll’s sample identify as Democrats. This despite the fact that recent polling by Gallup and other organizations show that less than 30% of the U.S. population now self-identifies that way. 40% were Republicans, despite recent polling by Gallup and others showing that less than 30 of the actual population self-identifies that way. That leaves just 12% of this sample taken from the vast middle of the country that identifies with neither party.
This poll is trash. Garbage. A fake poll taken simply to create a fake news story for Bret Baier to parrot. Fox News is almost all the way achieving its goal of becoming CNN.
Ok, so, let’s go on to the poll from The Wall Street Journal/NBC released on Tuesday. This poll claims to find that 43% of the public favor “supporting [Trump’s] removal based on what they know today,” according to the linked NBC article. Yet, when you go take a look at the details of the findings, here is what you actually discover: When asked whether there is “enough evidence to impeach Donald Trump and remove him from office now,” just 24% in the poll’s sample say “yes.”
TWENTY-FOUR PERCENT.
Another 31% are in favor of holding “an impeachment inquiry to determine of there is enough evidence” to remove the President from office, because Americans just love their investigations. Fine.
But look at how absurdly NBC has misrepresented this poll’s actual findings to the public, simply to create a “news” story that might attract viewers and clicks to its website. It’s a disgrace.
One big difference in this poll as compared to the Fox poll is that it has a more reasonable partisan breakdown of 30% Democrat and 25% Republican, with the rest of the sample basically independents.
These are just two of the most recent of dozens of polls taken on the impeachment and removal questions, and when you look closely at the entire group of them, what you find is that this Democrat/Media coordinated anti-Trump frenzy over the innocuous Ukraine phone call as moved public opinion towards removal from office by maybe 2 or 3 percentage points.
Meanwhile, the President’s public approval rating as measured by the RealClearPolitics average of polls sits at 43.6% approval, slightly above his average for all of 2019.
This is not remotely what the Democrats and their media toadies were hoping to achieve here. Not at all.
They’re gonna need a bigger hoax.

Because it is about infotainment, not the truth. Ukrainian news services are likely to be far more reliable sources in this whole affair than the overpaid clowns in the United States (or even Canada).
I don’t know how others behave, but I consider it my civic duty to lie to pollsters. Polls seem to now be used a kind of political weapon and propaganda. Moreover polls belong to the realm of social science, and there is so much corruption and fakery elsewhere in the social sciences, one can assume its the same in polling, or likely far worse given what’s at stake
Fox must really hate Trump to abandon a successful business model.

I have been drifting away from Fox News for the past couple of years. There are days on end when I never tune in.
I have found that ONE AMERICA NEWS is much better on my blood pressure and they do not have that very annoying “ALERT” going off every 15 seconds or so.
Fox is piling on. Has been during this impeachment. Especially in the news. Headlines and top and bottom-of-the hour news breaks. Oh and these polls.
Polls are a thing of the past. Since Trump won. Many knew polls were a thing of the past before 2016 election. It was obvious to anyone that poll meisters were anti Trump. They were not going to answer them nor was anyone with sense. Now who are polls measuring? People with landlines?
Does the Fox News poll send staff to the Trump rallies?
Thanks for the details, but the numbers only matter when Trump’s support among the Republican base collapses (drops below 50%) - then Senate Republicans will start thinking about removing him (this also means that his overall approval will have to be 20% or less...long way to go). But as far as I know, Trump is still 90% plus with the base...so no danger.
In fact, one of the upsides of all this crap is that we no longer hear about ‘gun control’ or ‘immigration reform’ anymore - and those are the ONLY two issues that I know of where Trump could lose his support from the base. This crap has actually been a gift to Trump by drowning out those issues.
One other thing - there was an article that mentioned that the Democrats were actually making some small inroads into Trump’s base, based on Trump taking forever with the Wall, supporting increased work-visas, and talking gun control (and bump-stock, of course). Now that is all gone, as those weak-kneed Trump supporters are back with Trump due to this impeachment crap.
Solution: One American News
The Trump campaign better be fighting for OANN whenit comes to debates. The usual band should not be getting any of the debates. They will stack the deck worst than ever before
Seems like somebody at FOX worked hard on the numbers to bring the for-impeachment figure to the magic 51%, or the ‘majority’.
I’d bet that the majority of those polled, have no idea what it takes to impeach a president. There is nothing in the Ukraine call worth even mentioning impeachment. The media frenzy every day talking about impeachment is what’s misleading those who ‘think’ the president should be impeached.
There are very few true independents. My brother claims to be one but is to the left of Bernie.

When I first began to read about the left wing swing at FOXNEWS here on FR, I thought, surely this could not be true, for I was not picking up on that in the shows I was watching there, which were a small percentage of shows aired. This article, however, has convinced me that it may be true that the new Management at FOX is determined to join the Orwellian crowd to try and satisfy what? We are all mortal, but the super wealthy seem not to comprehend that. Maybe that open border thing is not such a bad idea after all. Those of us who believe that unbelievable crimes are being committed in our highest government offices, that our Constitution is being debased and destroyed, that our values are being turned inside out and upside down and that Alinsky knew what he was doing when he dedicated his “Rules for Radicals” to Lucifer, would be better off with the folks coming into the country. Looks like Lucifer took Alinsky seriously and joined his team. Just so you know. I am done with FOXNEWS. Stopped watching Bret B. a long time ago. I just had a feeling he was not for us. Looks like I was right.

Polls are to steer public opinion, not measure it. But, it is funny how last week one poll showed Trump’s job approval at almost 51% then last night another poll says 51% want Trump removed from office. We’re being played.
