PG&E is absolutely doing the right thing.
Winds are currently sustained at about 20mph, on their way to 30mph with gusts of 45mph or higher.
Humidity is 12%.
The entire region is tinder box dry after a long, hot summer with no rain whatsoever.
Yet we have people who know nothing of the region excoriating PG&E for shutting off power. Laughable ignorance.
The wind is blowing, the windmills are generating electricity. Time to turn off

Pedernales Electric in Texas turned the power off to a wide area a few years ago. Problem was when they turned it back on, many transformers blew and sent up sparks and fire. Yeah, that’ll work real well on the tender box that is CA.
That brush they should be clearing would be perfect for a wood fired power plant. There would be an endless supply of fuel.
