These letters were written in recent months in response to a Howard County (Maryland) Council resolution calling on the county school system to desegregate its schools. The letters’ target was a comprehensive redistricting proposal offered by Howard County schools superintendent Michael Martirano. The plan would ease overcrowding and, in Martirano’s words, “substantially improve equity and access to the best educational services” in the county’s schools. By redistributing students around the district and balancing the number of poor students in the district’s schools, the proposal would make the schools more economically integrated, and thus—in theory—more racially integrated.

Metro areas expand and set up ‘metropolitan councils’ or some such for totalitarian control. Then people naturally migrate away from regulation by such councils. Wealthy exurbs first, then the middle class follows.
If the Republic is going to survive, we’ve got to stop lumping entire racial groups together, and we’ve got to get rid of the welfare state which destroyed the black family and others. The problem is not black people, it is socialism and humanism at the core of government policy.
You seem to have drawn a broad conclusion about Conservatives and “dislike of blacks”. If you believe that all Conservatives are racist, perhaps you do not belong on FR? Your reference to one thread and a few comments seems to be pretty weak “evidence” to condemn “Conservatives” in a general sense.

My point was that if someone is going to paint Dems with such a broad brush over this one article, then someone else could paint Conservatives with a similar brush if they had looked at the Penn State thread. But yes, I see your point. But I will also not stop calling-out bigoted and flat-out racist comments when I see them on this site. Those comments do not belong here, IMHO.
You can start with blacks themselves who by and large insist on being called African Americans and have hundreds if not thousands of political, lobbying and social groups segregated by and designated by race.

Extremely well said. Also they’re constantly saying that whites are what holds them down. If that’s true why do they even want to be closer to whites, why aren’t they doing better in schools where they are the majority? I would think they would want more not less segregation.
The answer can be found in “The Bell Curve”.
But the lack of respect for getting an education, to the point of ostracizing kids that do take it seriously, is eye poppingly foolish and I believe the largest block to blacks making real progress in the country.

Not just schools. Neighborhoods are becoming less integrated by choice. The trend among blacks is to move back to black areas.
I live in Howard County. My son was robbed while in a bathroom by two yutes. So we’re going to get more of the same? Awesome.

And why, after hundreds of years of being immersed into our culture, even forced to adopt our culture, have American blacks not adopted it? Culture doesn’t come out of thin air, I firmly believe that our cultural likes and dislikes have genetic components.

Maybe you should read up on that kid who will most likely turn out to be a more productive member of society than the people making those comments.

Every social science “solution” has just made the problem worse.
I just observe what is in front of my face (and ignore all the “experts”), and I observe that whites are second class citizens today.
