“Could be exterminated by gunships, missiles, and bombers by lunchtime.”

Like Vietnam, Like Afghanistan, Like Eastern Ukraine, like Hong Kong, like Chiapas, like Syria, like Iraq, like Yemen, like dozens of places.

By lunchtime...home for Christmas...kick in the door and the whole rotten house will cave in.

We’ve heard it before...

“Even 100,000 men acting independently could shut down the entire country in a few days. Maybe just one full day.”

Two morons with a single rifle, one mag of ammo and a Chevy shut down DC and the surrounding states for several weeks.

((Afghanistan war)) Hell, I was there in 2002.

1) Thank you for your service to our country

2) Maybe in 20-30 years things will get sort of settled down over there. Maybe not. /s

Writer never read “Unintended Consequences” by John Ross

Cheapest AbeBooks used copy is $91.40. Most higher cost. I was told by a FReeper to read it once---not at that price.

I hope Barr realizes that if the cabal escapes punishment and accountability they will never cease their nefarious schemes against us. Barr’s failure to prosecute would set a terrible precedent that basically condones the political weaponization of our federal agencies. At that point we are done as free republic.

I pray that Barr does the right thing but at the same time I’m very skeptical that he will.

Excellent points all. Something being missed is the ability of small arms (pistols, rifles/semiauto, and specialty rifles of the correct caliber and range) in us of... shall it be said— “capitation” actions of leadership.

This has been studied at length, and several excellent classic writings about the capability of regular citizens to change the course of events. Effectively.

One cannot hose down the populace with gunships and not expect a reaction— quite directed. Which was my point— that for “gunships” to be used requires the leadership and command and control— all of which would be first most in targeting by strike teams. The techie types think that a missile can replace a submunition 22 caliber, quietly applied to the back of the head of... whomever.

Yes, indeed. The up close and in person scenario would certainly feature, as would the choice of the houses to place tanks.

None of this is pleasant to imagine or war game— but it is.. essential.

Isabel Allende wrote in her book, “Paula”, that the freedom fighters salted the roads leading into Chile’s cities with nails.

Re: Generals

Hm?....you mean the same generals who ignored **FAKE** birth documents? Those documents were known to be FAKE within minutes of their posting.

Generals? What did they do? They persecuted lower level officers who had the courage to say something when they saw something!

Blah, bleah, blah—you’d be asymmetric for about 10 minutes until the gunships showed up

Fewer than fifteen thousand 'insurgents', using asymetric warfare tactics, tied up the US military in Iraq for nearly ten years.

Fifteen million armed and pissed off Americans would be more than our (or anyone else's) military could possibly handle.

So much for your gunships.

Things are going very well for our betters and they have no need to take the risk that a civil war would entail. One or two more generations and they will have their new order. No muss, no fuss, just a nice gentle walk down the road to hell at a speed the the herd will accept.

That slow and steady, incremental approach to "fundamental transformation of America" ended with Obama, who slammed the pedal to the metal.

The left followed his lead and are now completely unhinged and literally demanding an end to this country. Now. Our reaction to their lunacy was Trump. Their reaction to Trump is what's leading us closer and closer to a complete breakdown of the civil order in this country.

"That slow and steady, incremental approach to "fundamental transformation of America" ended with Obama, who slammed the pedal to the metal."

There is no "fundamental transformation of America" in our future. America is going to be canceled out like it never existed and the people are going to be happily brought into the new order of freedom and equality and economic justice for all! And it won't be done by open warfare - popular acclaim is much more likely.

For at least the last one hundred years they have been whittling away at the bedrock that our country was built upon. They have been debasing our currency, mis-educating and indoctrinating our youth, corrupting our marketplace, corrupting our leaders and increasing civil discord - and they are going to keep on doing this until we willingly accept their offered solution to all the strife and turmoil that they've caused.

To hear the old geezers on Free Republic talk they are just about ready to take up arms - but when they were young enough to have actually done so no one did a thing. Why? Because the level of stress and the rate of change was kept at a level that they could accept.

And the generation behind us oldsters? They were educated from day one in the new, modern way of thinking and are much more accepting of government intrusion in their lives. They are quite happy to accept "reasonable" restrictions on their freedoms - all for the greater good you know. And the generation behind them just now coming of age politically? Many of them would not only accept outright communism but would actually fight in the streets for it.

But that won't happen until the old geezers are gone because some of those old guys just might fight back and that could possibly get out of control. The plan has been in the works for much too long and is progressing much too well to take that kind of risk. And why take any risk at all? The day is coming - one more generation, maybe two - and we will be begging them to free us from the tyranny of that old white man's Constitution. All that's needed is patience and just a little more time.

I have a first year hard copy addition of the book and still have it. Another good book on what one man can do is Tom Clancy's "Without Remorse"

It is a silly conjecture to use words like Civil War Two. It would not be a War in the modern sense with full military forces going at each other to control the nation. This could happen after civil unrest reached the point that even all government forces had no control of states or regions.

What is likely to occur many have touched on, which is violent civl unrest. The cities are weak points that could be shut down in days and all civil control is gone. If this went on for weeks or months and spread without Marshall law or armed troops restoring order then the military itself could break down into factions for control of weapons and munitions if they were not under presidential authority.

The question is what would spark such massive civil violence? Not impeachment it would not remove Trump but it the Senate convicted actually removing Trump from office for doing nothing? Or if the Supreme Court chose not upholding the constitution and allowing government confiscation of weapons? Those are two such things that would lead to 100 million angry people to get seriously pissed off. If only 3% of those (3 million armed and motivated people) begin shooting after the left fires a few shots at conservatives than I would not want to be in a big city or urban area. Of those 3 million are a few hundred thousand well equipped, connected, trained, skilled, and motivated people that could bring the government to a standstill until cooler heads prevailed. Can anyone predict what happens when all that starts and where it ends up? Would make for a great fiction novel. Millions fantasize nightly watching the walking dead and zombie movies and shows that dehumanize their fellow Americans into targets. The author of the Hunger Games was trying to teach young people about the results of socialism and war. That novel has a civil war fracturing and balkanizing the country into further wars and then Districts controlled by a tyrannical capital, then overthrown by armed rebellion. Frankly I think Texas would survive any scenario and like the Alamo set things aright again. Some of these swamp creatures in D.C. need to go an a Missouri boat ride.

Back in the 1820s John Quincy Adams and John Calhoun met and discussed the future of the young country.

It was a respectful and polite conversation,

...the left doesn't have those anymore.
