Football is brutal.
How does Brady do it?
Young Andrew Luck retired, at 29.
“How does Tom Brady still have the strength to play at age 42?”
Giselle refuels him.
You really want to know? Ask the good people at Disney, cybernetic corp. Hall of Presidents division.
Mental strength. Luck could have played this season through the aches & pain.
But....he’s made 100 million dollars already; so I get why he is walking away.
Handoffs and slant passes.
He almost never runs as well.
He has had a decent line protecting him. Plus he gets rid of the ball really fast.
We have the technology.
I think the Patriots win one more title in February and Brady retires in the sunset.
Belichick stays, but the Pats are not what they will be anymore.
Football is a brutal sport, No. 2, probably hockey.
Kentucky, then Oakland QB George Blanda played well into his 40s. He was not the starter in his last years but anytime the starter was injured he would come in the and team not miss a beat.
He mostly kicked field goals tho. He credited Bear Bryant with giving him the toughness to last that long.
He’s disciplined. He takes care of himself. He trains, probably harder than ever before.
However, his change in head shape does indicate the use of PED’s.
One loves what he’s doing - loves the game.
The other loves the money more than the game.
Luck is walking away from 58 million of future money he won’t get. He’s still wealthy though.
16 games....part time job
Plus, if a defender breathes on him, it is roughing the passer...
His all-consuming hobby is anti-aging:
Anything with blood-spinning and stem cells? He’s doing it.
He’s doing it ALL.
He puts Tiger to shame, probably, he’s so into it.
At just 29, Luck has earned $100 million.
Take the money. Call it a day.
You have a lot of years ahead of you.
Better to do it with a functional body and brain.
That’s not chump change, that’s transformational money.
Theres lots you could do in this world for yourself, generations of your childrens children, your church, your business.
Brady loves the game. Luck was good enough to enjoy it and make some money.
Good seI mean good food. That and hes fortunate. He is a great athlete, takes care of himself, likes to compete, and loves the game and his life. As much as he irritates me, I hope he goes another few years. Call it an old man living his life through a younger mans achievements. Sorry football screwed the fans but go Brady.
Because he cheats, obviously.
That was sarcasm directed at the Never-Bradys.
He loses 58 million by retiring early.
The cartoonist Gary Varvel is based in Indiana. His cartoon today is about Luck’s retirement. Obviously not happy at the news.
