Handoffs and slant passes.
He almost never runs as well.
Plus, if a defender breathes on him, it is roughing the passer...
You’re right.
He’s not gotten clobbered like Ben over at Pittsburgh and some others.
He also stays in great shape and he’s driven to an insane degree.
And I hate to say it because I want it to be Joe Montana, but he’s likely the best QB to ever play the game.
That’s pretty much it. All one has to do is watch the way he plays. He isn’t hanging onto the ball all that much, while Luck was more like a fullback that could throw. And like anything else, what you can get away with in high school gets even harder in college.
And, as so many QBs have learned, making the move to the NFL, what you could get away with in college, you’re definitely not getting away with in the NFL. They may be able to get away with it for a season or two, but the defense finally figures them out and then it’s lights out for the remainder.
Dink and dunk...handoff to young fresh running backs...assidiously assembled offensive line gives good protection for his quick passes...he trains well also....but yeah...dink and dunk is the main reason. Blame the rules committee on “competition”
