Republicans are targeting several House seats they lost to Democrats in New Jersey last year as they look to come back after losing nearly all of their seats in the state.
Republicans lost four New Jersey House seats in 2018 as voters angry with President Trump and former Gov. Chris Christie (R) punished their party. The GOP had already lost a seat in the state in 2016.
In 2020, the GOP thinks it has a decent chance of winning back three of those seats — if things break the right way. But it won't be easy, and Democrats are optimistic that they’ll hold all of the seats.
“I think the Democratic incumbents are at least slightly favored in all four of the districts that flipped in 2018, but Republicans have a chance in all of them,” said John Weingart, associate director of the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University, who has worked in New Jersey state government during both Democratic and Republican administrations.

The biggest challenge for the GOP in New Jersey is that people are fleeing the state in droves ... and most of them are probably Republicans and independents who made up the core of the party’s base of support.
Are they going to be more pro-illegal alien than the Democrats?

They’re moving to TX, GA, AZ, NC, SC, PA, etc.
Well, now you have a Democrat representing you in Washington — so you don’t have to deal with that RINO anymore.
I think North Carolina and Virginia have surpassed Pennsylvania and Florida as the top destinations for people moving out of New Jersey in recent years.
Yup, and a lot of them are now my neighbors and fellow parishioners in sunny Southwest Florida.

Easy win after his opponent called people who live in Jackson, Howell, Upper Freehold Racists basically over half his district.
Plus he held a staged “town hall” where only people from his campaign were in attendance

Sure they are since rational, sane republican voters are moving out.
The Northeast states are getting bluer. Unchecked immigration/sanctuary and the fleeing of anyone who remotely has an inclination to vote GOP has changed the demographics irreversibly. I feel most of those states (outside of PA and maybe ME) are as gone as California.
Not much of a difference to my mind. I'm hoping that we will be rid of her the next time we have a choice.

The good news for the rest of the country is that this migration is actually making some states REDDER. North Carolina might be a good example of this. Just as normal people fleeing from Illinois have turned Indiana into one of the “reddest” states in the U.S., this migration of productive citizens out of the Northeast may help states like North Carolina in the short term.
We have to purge our ranks of traitors, but I think they have the message and are at least keeping a bit mum. Mittens is certainly trying to lead them into the wilderness and I see little indication any of them are going to follow him into NeverNeverTrump land. Still, we need to keep our powder dry and stand ready to "encourage" anyone on our side whose "morale" is showing signs of weakening.

It sure would be nice if they realized what drove them out of Jersey and voted Republican in those states. All these people fleeing the mess in CA are turning their new home states blue.
