Of course, it’s everyone else’s fault.

Not the left and leftists, like herself, that helped create this political Frankenstein’s Monster that she’s now sick and tired of.

Bolsheviks were among the first put against the wall to be shot and shipped in mass numbers to fill the gulags. That wasn’t on accident then, and it isn’t planned to be this time if the degeneracracy wins again.

I am not going to pretend that Conservatives are without sin. But let me make the following observation:

In just about every anecdote (easily north of 90%) that I have read about personal relationships that have been sundered over politics since the 2016 election cycle, it's the Lefties who are the ones shunning, shaming, and disowning. And mind you, this holds true even in "Progressive" publications that I have read.

Do any Progressives get hit with pies at campus lectures? Do any Progressives get their campus event canceled by the Heckler's Veto of outraged right-wingers? Has the Alt-right ever been able to shut down a major city's downtown like Antifa has done in Portland, OR on several occasions? Can anyone imagine a conservative athlete kneeling during the National Anthem to protest same-sex marriage?

"Both parties demand totalitarian-like devotion to their ideology and if you’re indifferent, apathetic or nuanced in your approach to politics, you’ll end up in the wasteland of the center — tribeless, unprotected and increasingly insulated."

There is only one party demanding "totalitarian-like" devotion.

It's not the gop.

...I’m tired of the toxic tribalism infecting the very foundations of our democracy...

Get off my lawn.

The reason WHY she wants out of all this is she sees and believes HER SIDE is by far the instigators, the haters, the nuts, and the goons.

She sees she is on the wrong team and tries to cover her tracks when she retreats from her Leftist side trench.

As blind as ever.

“I’m tired of everyone being outraged, getting worked up over the latest news cycle only to forget about it two hours later.”

Go look at eligible voter turnout rates for the last 100 years or so. The people who care about politics and culture from either side usually vastly overestimate the number of people that care as much as they do, at least enough to deign to vote about it. The 24 hour news cycle and social media is probably a big reason for this overestimation.

Another snowflake rearing his/her head. I was declared the enemy my senior year in HS, 47 years ago. Hasn't changed much since then.

Liberals have been nasty and condescending since the mid-60s. As evidenced by my recent forays on Classmates, it appears a fair percentage grew up and matured. "Glad to hear you were able to escape California" is a common vibe...lol.

That part was easy. Four years of college in Washington, followed by the Army sending me to Texas and Germany for 8 years took care of that. I felt at home from the first day I set foot in Texas 40+ years ago.

Best thing I did for my kids was to make sure they were born in Texas.

It’s always the winning teams fault for the fans of the losing team burning their town to the ground. Every LIEBERAL should be made to describe what a NAZI is and what Trump has done to duplicate what Hitler did!
