Media Coverage of Portland Melee Raises Bias to New Heights

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Here’s an actual quote from Bernie Sanders yesterday: “We have a president who is a racist, who is a bigot, who is a sexist, who is a homophobe, and Islamophobe…and what we will not allow him to do is to divide us based on our skin color and our gender.”

Oh. Okay. *sigh*

Here is how The Oregonian fake newspaper led its coverage of yesterday’s stupid clash between the Proud Boys and the violent terrorist group Antifa: “Right-wing activists and those protesting their presence converged Saturday on Portland’s downtown waterfront in a much-anticipated confrontation that captivated a nation inflamed by rising division and resentment, with even President Donald Trump entering the Fray.”

Let’s break that disgustingly amateurish and biased paragraph down. First, the Proud Boys are accurately identified as right-wing activists. That’s what they are. Good start.

Second, the ultra-violent fascism-promoting hate group Antifa is not even identified by name, but as “those protesting their presence”. Gosh, biased much? Did an Antifa leader write this damn article? Or maybe Portland’s Mayor, who might as well be an Antifa leader?

Third, we have this: “…a much-anticipated confrontation that captivated a nation inflamed by rising division and resentment…”. Really? Captivated a nation? Funny, we were out and about most of the day Saturday and didn’t encounter a single person who wanted to ask our opinion of the “confrontation” of these two groups of slugs. Didn’t see a single TV tuned to any channel covering the mindlessly stupid event. Nor did we encounter a single person who seemed at all “inflamed” by “division” or “resentment.” Seems like the Antifa-hugging author of this absurd paragraph is engaging in a little projection.

Finally, let’s analyze this: “…with even President Donald Trump entering the Fray.” Really? The President of the United States was in Portland, Oregon on Saturday? That’s odd, given that multiple reports in our fake news media pegged him being somewhere else. Like at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

And let’s look at that final word: Why is “Fray” capitalized? Is the park where the competing groups of doofuses confronted each other named “the Fray”? Or maybe there was a rock band called “the Fray” playing in the park and President Trump showed up to play bass guitar for them?

Or maybe, just maybe, the Oregonian employs proofreaders who are as utterly dim and incompetent as the author of the piece and the editors who approved it? Yeah, that seems right.

Look, the Oregonian and its unbelievably biased coverage are part of the problem in Portland, as big a part as radical leftist Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler’s behavior is. This “coverage” reads like a promotional piece for a hate group that is on the verge of receiving a formal “terror group” designation by the federal government. Absurd media promotional pieces like this only serve to encourage their activities in the same way Wheeler’s refusal to allow Portland’s police department to enforce the law during Antifa’s frequent riots held within Portland’s friendly confines.

This is what happens when cities are run exclusively by leftist Democrats (pardon my redundancy) for decades, as Baltimore and Chicago and Detroit and Philadelphia and San Francisco and Los Angeles and so many other beaten-down large U.S. cities can attest. But hey, Wheeler and his fellow Marxists are the leadership the voters elected, and will no doubt re-elect again and again and again in the coming years.

Within a decade, Portland, Oregon will become the same kind of hollowed-out shell that Baltimore is today. Because that’s what Democrats are good at creating.

That is all.

You are seem to be suggesting that Trump supporters/pro-America supporters start the violence just as many times as Antifa.

Wrong.

Antifa ALWAYS starts it. Have you seen ANY pro-America groups walking alone down city streets breaking windows, destroying property? Antifa does this ALL. THE. TIME.

After the Portland rally, you might have seen the buses carrying pro-America people leaving. It was Antifa smashing the bus windows, yes?

Antifa provokes the violence EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Down here in SoCal, we had our pro-Trump rally back on March 25, 2017. The Antifa idiots blocked the march. The caused what violence broke out. I was there.

"You are seem to be suggesting that Trump supporters/pro-America supporters start the violence just as many times as Antifa."

If I seemed to be suggesting that, I was not properly expressing myself. I was suggesting that groups like the Proud Boys may or may not be mainstream conservatives (it's hard to get past all the media labels to know what they really believe), but when a group of bearded, helmeted young "right-wingers" get in brawls - REGARDLESS OF WHO STARTS IT - the media will blur all distinctions and the right-wingers will somehow be blamed, and many in the public will not have the time or motivation to try to sort it all out.

As for yesterday, I did not see even one example of right-wing violence, but I did the see the bus videos you talked about, and the video of the man who was knocked unconscious by Antifa, and I saw the lack of intervention by the Portland police. The general public will NOT see those videos, but only the biased accounts of the MSM. Hence my belief that these confrontations of fringe groups are not to be encouraged or celebrated.

leftist Democrats (pardon my redundancy)
The journalism cartel systematically defines and redefines political terms for its own convenience. Up to the 1920s, the term “liberal” meant pretty much what you and I mean when we say, “conservative.” According to Safire’s New Political Dictionary, the meaning of the word was changed - essentially inverted - in the 1920s. Safire doesn’t say who changed it - note the passive voice “was changed” - but you and I know who had motive and opportunity.

The point is, that IMHO the proper definition of “liberal” in modern parlance is, “the perspective of the membership of the journalism cartel.” Journalists apply the term to people who go along and get along with journalists. And to no other. Of course, they don’t apply the term to themselves, they want to position themselves differently. And they wouldn’t want to position a judge with that term, either.

Make no mistake, journalists tagged us with a negative label by calling us “conservative” - there essentially are no actual conservatives in America. The Constitution explicitly authorizes the Congress to “promote the progress of science and the useful arts” - and no actual conservative believes in progress.

They showed no photos of Antifa? They must figure they’re already identified as terrorists.
