For the past three years, Washingtons gatekeepers have covered up evidence of two potentially massive and overlapping public-corruption scandals that, if fully exposed, threaten to shake the nation to its core.
One involves the Obama administration spying on the Trump campaign while sexing-up Russian interference in the 2016 election to justify it. The other involves it pulling punches in the Hillary Clinton email investigation and clearing her of criminal wrongdoing just in time for the Democratic National Convention.
President Donald Trump has granted his plucky new attorney general the power to rip the cover off both these election-year scandals.
Trumps recent declassification order not only helps Attorney General William Barr dig into the earliest days of the Trump-Russia investigation to see the full extent of surveillance measures ordered by Obama officials. It also puts him in a position to declassify still-secret documents generated during the highly irregular Clinton probe, which absolved her of mishandling state secrets transmitted through her unauthorized basement email-server before agents could even interview her.
White House lawyers wrote the May 23 order in a way that delegates sweeping authority to Barr to declassify or un-redact documents covering both 2016 presidential investigations. This is key, because the same former Justice Department and FBI officials who led the Russia collusion investigation also headed the Clinton inquiry.

In before the six year olds...
That cinches it.
Art of the Deal is happening here.
You Dems sign-on to supporting at least some of my agenda and nobody ever needs to know the painful truth.
Trust the plan of the 17th letter of the English alphabet!!!
Hurry!!!! Hurry!!! Hurry!!!! Get it done and indict them!!!!!
Gosh, do you believe the public will ever be given a peek at anything other her yoga schedule plans, Chelseas wedding gift lists and sympathy statements over Hills moms passing?
> You Dems sign-on to supporting at least some of my agenda and nobody ever needs to know the painful truth.
Get them to sign-on and then release it anyway. Twist the knife.
I love transparency in government.
Just do it or shut up. We were promised this over a year ago and bupkis.
Hillary is "absolved" of nothing!
Her staff may have some bogus "immunity", but Hillary has none.

Yeah, right. The agencies will scoff instead of cough.
These agencies are good at dodging accountability, stonewalling, and keeping things secret. They have no intention of releasing anything that will damage them.
On top of that, the plotters against Trump had little to fear. They know the Republicans are simply too inept and weak to ever hold anyone accountable.
It is curious. Hillary was exonerated but Trump wasnt.
Barr being allowed to unseal and show them to the world is one thing, him doing it is another.
Read an article earlier that Strzok is allowed to come and go in FBI Headquarters and has been seen with upper level FBI & DOJ officials in off site locations. Pretty cozy set up for someone that was fired.
Barr being allowed to unseal and show them to the world is one thing, him doing it is another.

Nothing of any real consequence is going to happen to the plotters and enablers. Barr will probably focus his report on organizational and procedural problems within the agencies that allowed people to circumvent internal controls rather than go after individual people.
A year from now we won’t know much more than we already do. It will all be whitewashed and the Swamp will win again.
Look up Barr and Ruby Ridge, folks.
Opens your eyes.
They thought they were going to have the ultimate power with their investigations and impeachment talk but POTUS has them all beat. This is getting good. Much better than a soap opera.
“It is curious. Hillary was exonerated but Trump wasnt.”
Interesting point.
“Barr being allowed to unseal and show them to the world is one thing, him doing it is another.”
Correct, and let’s not refer to him as “plucky” yet. Maybe “hopefully plucky” or “yet to be proven plucky”.
