249 Mass Shootings in just 215 days! It's on the internet, so it must be true. Not so fast.
The database is poorly sourced and uses this definition of "mass shooting": 4 or more victims injured or killed excluding the subject/suspect/perpetrator, one location.
The assumed solution is "background checks," but the truth is that the OVERWHELMING number of these are gang related and/or involve gun possession that is ALREADY ILLEGAL.
The people posting these statistics don't really want you to know about all of the "mass shootings."
HERE'S a test...how many of these shootings were there on 3-4 August, 2019? Your answer below.
We've got a problem, but using bad data and emotion will not fix things.

The shootings in Texas and Ohio were the 21st and 22nd mass killings of 2019 in the U.S., according to the AP/USA Today/Northeastern University mass murder database that tracks homicides where four or more people killed — not including the offender.
Including the two latest attacks, 125 people had been killed in the 2019 shootings...
