Donald Trump will soon become the fourth sitting president to make a state visit to Denmark. The country's monarch, Queen Margrethe II, has extended an invitation to the president and first lady to travel to Denmark this fall.
A detailed itinerary for the Trumps' two-day state visit, on September 2-3, has yet to be announced. The White House's website simply states that in Denmark, "the President will participate in a series of bilateral meetings and meet with business leaders."
In a statement, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen hinted that he was interested in shoring up the countries' defense alliance. "The U.S. is Denmark’s most important and strongest ally in NATO," Frederiksen said, per Reuters. "Our soldiers stand shoulder by shoulder at the world’s hotspots and in the defense of Europe’s safety."

Strategic placement. Allows us to pre-stage equipment, repair facilities, etc
Allows us to keep threats at an “arms length” from the homeland.
The main thing that irritated me about the borders was the fact we were leaving home wide open for attack. The immigration issue was bad, don’t get me wrong, but having the border wide open facilitated it.
