More than 70 people protested outside of an ICE Detention Center and nearby Amazon Fulfillment Facility in Elizabeth on Sunday amid planned raids targeting at least 2,000 immigrants nationwide.
Sweat dripping down their brows in 90 degree temperatures, protestors held signs such as “Family’s belong together” and “No Tech 4 ICE." They called for Amazon to end its partnership with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and close any federal contracts supporting the Trump administration’s “anti-immigrant agenda," they said.
One protester, who asked to be identified only his first name, Mario, said he knows what it’s like to be detained by ICE. He fled violence in El Salvador in 2014 to seek asylum in the United States and was detained, he said speaking Spanish through a translator.
“It’s a big deal to make this journey," Mario said. “I came here fleeing for my life. I came here to preserve my life, and being detained and facing deportation and the threat of having to go back where I have to risk my life again is very scary.”

I have immigrants in my family too. They came here legally. They are not afraid of ICE because they didn’t break the law to come here - they ARE Americans.

I have “proven” my ancestry for membership in several hereditary societies...To date I have identified 70+ ancestors who lived in American since 1623...
My last ancestor was my Vermont 3rd great grandmother who died in Gowanda, New York in 1888...I have copies of her marriage and death certificates...

When I came here I was an alien...a person from another country...I was a registered alien...those aliens who come here without prior permission from the American government are illegal aliens...they are not IMMIGRANTS...either a person is an IMMIGRANT or they are not ...there are no levels...no sub-categories in IMMIGRATION...

Follow all instructions ...

Background checks with prior employers, landlords etc
police record checks...past criminal activity makes an applicant ineligible for IMMIGRATION...
Have proven work record to prove fitness and willingness for employment in America ...
Pay fees
Prove the possession of $1,000 for use by the applicant to live in America for the 90 days wait for an Alien Registration card AKA green card so that he or she can work here...or for the use of the American govt to buy a plane ticket to send the alien home again if proven undesirable ...
Swear with raised hand and sign document to the fact that all provided info is true to the best of the applicants knowledge and that same said applicant WILL be deported if found later to have lied...
Swear with raised hand and sign document to the fact that the applicant understands he or she WILL be deported if he or she even applies for welfare, food stamps (EBT cards) free medical and anything else pertaining to only American citizens...

BTW there is no such thing as dual citizenship in America...I had to raise my hand and swear and renounce my New Zealand citizenship and surrender my NZ passport 30 days before my naturalization ceremony...that was the hardest step of all...I could only be of 1 nationality in America...

The enablers of illegal aliens like to put illegal aliens in with IMMIGRANTS and claim falsely that illegal aliens don’t commit as much crime as other people but that’s not true...
separately the IMMIGRANTS are the ones who don’t commit crimes...the illegal aliens are the ones who commit the most even outside of their illegal entry which is 100% of them...

anyone see a report from ICE or the WH with number of raids and number arrested. We have 100,000 common g isn every month and are still trying to deport 2000.
