What better tribute to Ross Perot than to take a look at a few highlights of his 1993 debate on NAFTA with Al Gore. These clips illustrate the character of Perot. He turned out to be correct about the harm NAFTA would cause for American workers and economy as well as provided great entertainment in the way he handled Gore during the CNN debate hosted by Larry King.
PING!
He and his companies did also later on outsource a bazillion jobs :)
“Afta NAFTA The Shafta.”
I voted for Perot and would do so again. He was a man ahead of his time, everything he predicted came true and only til Trump came along did anyone on the national stage talk about them openly.
RIP Ross Perot.
The original can be seen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKd_CZSWG8s in its entirety.
Fact.
All politicians seek power and money.
It was not outsourcing that he opposed but off-shoring. EDS and Perot Systems were outsourcing companies. They took over other companies IT.
Perot is the reason we ended up with Bill Clinton.
Bush is why we ended up with Clinton. Had President Ready My Lips governed as he campaigned he would have won no problem.
I didnt vote for Perot, but in hindsight I wish he would have won.
Same folks smearing Perot for “giving us Clinton” would be saying the same of POTUS had he not won. Despite the fact HW Bush actually voted for Hillary and her SCOTUS in 2016.
Ross Perot gave us Bill Clinton. The country has gone downhill since then quicker than a greased pig down a chute, as that idiot Texan would say.
Perot made it possible for Trump to win. He created the blueprint.
I voted for Perot. Only time in my life I did not vote a GOP ticket. Perot was the canary in the coal mine on the big issues of our time. Unfortunately, the GOPe just doesn’t want reform and would rather get rich being a minority party.
Clinton only got something like 43 percent of the vote. Although I also fault Bush Senior for pissing away Reagan’s legacy, Perot drove the nail through it and killed off any future for our country.
Look where we are now. Only person I hold in less esteem for damaging America is Juan McCain.
Ross Perot gave us Bill Clinton. The country has gone downhill since then quicker than a greased pig down a chute, as that idiot Texan would say.
Paul Ryan and 45 retiring GOP Congressdirtbags gave us Nancy Pelosi. Lindsay Graham and the GOP Senate gave us the Mueller Coup and his police state tactics when they publicly threatened POTUS not to fire Sleepy Sessions. Etc., etc.
Remember how people who watched said Perot won the debate and the next day the media declared Gore the winner....
You mistakenly assume a Bush admin agenda was all that much different than a Clinton agenda. They were certainly in total agreement on the open borders and unfair trade agendas. China, etc. The GOP has lied to us for 30 years about wanting a secure border. And of course it was a Bush Jr. SCOTUS appointee who cursed us with Obamacare. The progressive push from the corporate world would have happened regardless of who was in the WH. So I don’t see us substantively different position had HW had another term to shape his “New World Order.”
And wasn’t Souter another real highlight of the HW admin. Almost forgot that one. LOL.
