Most people don’t want to hear how you rejected what your parents have taught you as you introduce yourself to the country. To make such remarks on stage, on camera seems kind of mean and ungrateful. A public disavowal of the world according to your elders. Hmmm. Maybe she isn’t ready for higher officer after all.
