Mexican Federal police have discovered an enormous marijuana plantation just south of San Diego, 6 miles over the Mexican border in the state and El Centro, and set it on fire.
Border Patrol officials out of San Diego, California, estimated the 70,000 pounds had a street value of $277 million and they believe they were produced to flood the U.S. market, Customs and Border Protection said in a statement issued late Friday.

The town downwind had an enormous case of the munchies and couldn’t stop giggling about it.
How can they compete with all the weed grown in the US?..............
Good. They are doing what they can to keep drugs out of the US.

Did they wait till the predicted winds were toward San Diego?
America-hating Travel Fairy Rick Steves is on his way. Hes a big time doper.
Man, can you imagine the size of the paper that took? Wonder how they kept it lit...
Nothing like putting the irrigation water to good use. /s
13 square miles = 360,000,000 square feet. 25 years ago I heard one grow light can produce $500 worth of weed in a basement. 13 acres sounds more like 180,000,000,000 dollars worth of crops.
13 square miles and they just discovered it how do you not miss it?
Actually given how Mexico works it was one cartel damaging the supply of another cartel to drive up prices for their crop.
Something straight out of the series Narco’s.
Apparently there are loads of folks who are starting a little personal grow operation. Once you figure out how to do it (not as easy as it may seem) you can make a personal stash and never need to buy it again.
13 square miles of grow??? hmmm
Buy American Dope!....er nevermind.
Oh, they just "discovered" this? A pot field the size of a city and nobody knew about it??
If they did, then I believe that's called marketing.

My life seems to slow down
The further I go
Into the bare heart
Of old Mexico
Still I keep searching for someone
Who once let me in
But somehow I lost him
To the Mexican wind.

Who would bother with Mexican pot?
