I haven’t checked lately, but one of the times I went “home” to live, we bought some milk from one of the farms around the town. I took some of it and made about a half a pound of butter. I haven’t though about raw milk since I’ve been here, but I may have to find out who sells raw milk, just so I can make some butter.

We used to churn milk for my friend’s mother when we were growing up. We all took turns and that was fun! Of course, everything in The Land Of Morm was fun when we were short people. Some of us still are. ;o]

Have you checked with Ben Lurkin? He usually finds a lot of silly players.

I had “real milk” from the cow when I was a kid in Missouri. I didn’t take to it.

Using non-real-milk takes about 60% off our consumption. They put it on cereal, but only Frank will drink large cups of it.

The first time I saw “real milk” I wouldn’t drink it because it was in a pitcher on a farm table instead of a bottle from the fridge.

I was an adult before I would drink it but only if I mixed it with chocolate or put it on cereal.

With chocolate, I think you’d get a kind of melted-ice-cream vibe.

Kitteh wants us to stay away from the catnip! RAWR!!

Good morning. I have no idea what I’m doing this morning. My knee still hurts, but I’m going to try to work on the desk again this morning. I suspect I’ll have to do it sitting in my chair or standing up because I won’t be able to kneel.

And I need to get a letter finished and sent out.

Epic Fail Lawn service has messed with my stuff once too often. There are two hand trucks, a leaf rake, two chairs and a small plastic table at the corner of the kitchen, and they keep moving them for whatever reason, and leaning them against the security screen. Which would be OK, if it were temporary, but they don’t put them back. When they do the front walk, they move the door mat that Charlie made, and never put it back where it belongs.

I finally blew it yesterday. It irritated me so much (again!) that I went right over to the office, and told Chuck what they keep doing (I’ve told him about the doormat before) and asked him to tell them to leave my stuff alone. Don’t touch the stuff in the back and DO NOT move my doormat! They’ve already lost one of the little rubber thingys that the mat is made of, and they did that the first time they came after I moved in. I’ve never found it. GAH!!!

GAH. I sympathize: our local branch of Epic Fail moves stuff around, leaves it, and wrecks it, too.

Well, I only bought two gallons of raw milk and one of those was sacrificed for butter. Igor drank the buttermilk *ptooie* and we all ate the butter (it was just before my son went into the army) and the other was mostly consumed by Igor.

I’m not a real fan of it except to make butter. :o])

In the 70s, my grandmother would buy raw milk and make butter with her electric mixer.

The items I mentioned are covered, or hidden, for the most part by large bushes, and the bushes also protect them from the elephants. There is no need to move the things because the bushes are up against the wall and about 8’ high. And there is no undergrowth because there is no sunshine to reach the ground, there. Northwest corner and all that, with another building 15’ away.

Anyway, Chuck said he would talk to them and I hope he did. I know how to sweep my own sidewalk, and I even have a broom to do it with!

I used a blender for my churning, and this was in ‘82 I think. I don’t have a blender now, though.

That was the first time we moved to Utah, and the next time, we settled in St George. By then, both kids were in their chosen branches of the military.

I have a broom. I try to get Epic Fail Lawn Service to sweep the sidewalk, but the result is underwhelming. It’s a good thing we don’t pay Epic Fail very much.

This Epic Fail Lawn Service doesn’t know how to sweep a sidewalk. They use a blower, which is why I don’t want them near my front door or the back side of the house. They are overpaid, no matter what they get.

I’ve never seen such sloppy work. They need a mulcher, but instead they lay a piece of burlap on the ground in front of the dumpster and put the plant debris on it, then gather up the corners and pour the debris into the dumpster. Half of it ends up on the ground, and the dumpster enclosure needs to be swept.

I guess to sum it up, they are the Epic Fail Clueless Lawn Destruction and Sprinkler Decapitation Service.

Well, looks like FR is back where I can connect to it.

Happy Freiday Eve, all. Don’t let the black cat scare you.

Just don’t cross its path.

If you try to climb in his window, you’ll deserve whatever happens to you.

Thorsday is the day we don’t have to drive anywhere in the morning. Maybe we’ll get some eddication done.

“Thor” was on TV last night. I watched some of it while I packed.

I was reminded that the dumbest part of the movie was that Thor fell in love with Natalie Portman instead of Jane Alexander, but ...

I was struck by just how well the Marvel team kept the MCU together for all those 20-odd movies and how they managed to develop their characters.

Scorcese can moan that none of his movies have ever been as popular all he wants. Those Marvel guys did some amazing work.

(I’ve never understood the appeal of Natalie Portman.)
