Graham isn’t worried about letting Barr declassify intelligence information

Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham said Sunday he doesn’t see any threat to national security in President Donald Trump’s decision to allow Attorney General William Barr to declassify information from the Russia investigation.

“We’re not compromising national security here,” the South Carolina Republican said on “Fox News Sunday.” “We’re trying to create a system to make sure this never happens again.”

Last week, the White House announced: “The Attorney General has also been delegated full and complete authority to declassify information pertaining to this investigation, in accordance with the long-established standards for handling classified information. Today’s action will help ensure that all Americans learn the truth about the events that occurred, and the actions that were taken, during the last Presidential election and will restore confidence in our public institutions.”

Graham said that there are still questions that need answering, and giving Barr this power could help shed line on potential Russia influence during the 2016 presidential election.

“Did they have a lawful reason to surveil President Trump’s campaign? Did they lie to the [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance] court,” Graham asked. “Every American should want to find that out.”

The fact that linda is okay with barr having authority to declassify stuff concerns me. Call me a naysayer, but linda has been a mueller supporter from the beginning. Even after the corrupt and partisan crap that mueller pulled, linda has been singing his praises. I have always believed that linda is part of the corruption in DC. So his support for this latest development suggest to me he knows barr is doing clean-up, not rooting out the corruption. Politicians generally do not change like linda wants us to believe unless they are up for re-election or know the fix is in. Which in this case appears to be both. JMHO

His boyfriend McCain took a Dirt Nap, so Linda doesn’t care what they find out about the RINOs implicated as well at this point!

The System is GITMO and some exicutions.

Deterrence by long prison stays and execution of bad actors that try to overthrow the US Government.

Rhut Row...i see this is going to amount to nuttin. No indictments; no charges; no accountability; no jail time for the perps...etc. just more laws on already stretched books that will result in even more laws, and laws, and laws. Just keep kicking the can and drawing the line in the Syrian sand.

I’ve heard him talk about “the new Lindsay” a couple of times and he always says the Kavanaugh hearing really was the turning point for him. He saw how power-hungry the dems are and it really pissed him off that they were willing to ruin a man and a family to keep it. He won’t always agree with Trump (nor will I) but he’s been on the right side about 1000 times more since McCain croaked for whatever reason.

I think it’s interesting that Trump put Barr in charge of declass rather than, for example, the DNI, who is supposedly the hub for intelligence activities. A trust issue?

Go Graham! I hate the way people here hate him and call him “Linda.” He’s not a “Linda,” he sounds somewhat affected because the educated South Carolina accent is something most Americans never hear. He grew up in a very modest family, btw. I think they owned a restaurant/bar somewhere inland. He got a military scholarship to attend USC, where he excelled.

He’s been re-elected by the good (conservative) people of South Carolina, including my daughter, who was disappointed after he got in and he promptly allied with McCain.

I don’t know what the odious McCain did to keep people in thrall to him , but I suspect it had something to do with military funding, because SC is a big military state. McCain controlled a lot of money, particularly for the military, and this made “lesser’ Senators Into his supplicants and very afraid of him.

But Graham is a serious believer in reality and he is also an incredibly well-spoken one...that SC accent makes it even better!

“We’re trying to create a system to make sure this never happens again.”

The very FIRST thing that needs to be done is creation of an independent organization that keeps tabs on and investigates government. Allowing government to investigate government is completely ridiculous, and always has been.

That’s an interesting theory, that McCain demanded loyalty from Graham because of military funding. Makes sense, politics is filled with such relationships.

We need more Lindsay Grahams.

No worries if you have nothing to hide. Trump released everything and everyone for over two years. The Hussein rats will soon be scurrying.

Hopefully.

And I hope the spanking occurs in Gitmo! Then we all can love it. However, I believe the narrative is being set to justify moving on. I have seen that in the service. A unit would get so bad that people needed to be held accountable. A new commander would come in, tell us that we are starting fresh, and to just forget the past. Basically, to get moral boosted since there was a new sheriff in town. Somehow I sense this is exactly what is going to transpire. I really hope my senses are wrong and that all deep-state-criminals are held accountable.

Which will soon become impossibly corrupted, filled with small-minded ideological hacks, probably Democrats. An unelected body given great power. What could go wrong?

Something’s got to be done. When the government charges, say, Ford with something, it doesn’t allow Ford to respond, “We’ll get our best people on that right away.”

Why is government exempt from independent scrutiny?
