Why did Lynne Patton, the Trump Administrations New York and New Jersey Chief for Housing and Urban Development, HUD, take the job? And what are her experiences of being a high profile black woman working in the Trump administration?
Today we sit down with Lynne Patton, HUD Regional Administrator for New York and New Jersey, who also served in the Trump organization for 10 years, most recently as Vice President of the Eric Trump Foundation. We discuss her role at HUD, her experiences living in New York Public housing and overall as a black conservative woman, and her take on the attacks on secretary carson, President Trump, his family, and supporters of the administration, especially by the legacy media.
Jan Jekielek: So, Lynne, youre the regional administrator for HUD (United States Department of Housing and Urban Development) here in New York and New Jersey, and that is a pretty important role. Youre implementing the presidents and Secretary Carsons policies here in this region, and its the most populous one. Is that right?
Lynne Patton: Yes. Its definitely the most densely populated region in the country. We service more HUD clients here in Region 2, which is New York and New Jersey, than any other region in the country. A lot of those clients of ours come from the New York City Housing Authority which is NYCHA as everybody knows. It is the largest public housing authority in the Western Hemisphere, not just the United States but North America. In fact, more people live in NYCHA public housing than the entire city of Miami which blows peoples minds when I say that.
