Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez complained Sunday that GOP fact-checkers were taking her “dry humor” literally.
“This is a technique of the GOP, to take dry humor + sarcasm literally and ‘fact check’ it,” she tweeted. “Like the ‘world ending in 12 years’ thing, you’d have to have the social intelligence of a sea sponge to think it’s literal. But the GOP is basically Dwight from ‘The Office’ so who knows.”

And when Ocasio-Cortez first made the claim, she certainly appeared to be playing up the absurdity of the statement for effect.

Well, if AOC wants us to assume her idiotic remarks are nothing but sardonic humor, she needs to show enough knowledge and intelligence in overwall, that we can recognize her wit.
Ah - another to add to my list of leftie weasel phrases used when they get caught making statements that would be trumpeted as outrageous or lies had they come from conservatives - “dry humor” - to go with “taken out of context”, “misunderstood”, “poorly stated” and the rest......

“Social intelligence” = a fabricated term used by someone of marginal intelligence — usually an IQ in the 85-95 range — to pretend he or she has some kind of superior intellectual capabilities that cannot be measured.
