What are these guys doing on the firing range? Why are these guys strolling on an active rifle range as if they're bullet proof? Its obvious this is not gun safety at its finest.
Watching the gun violation in this video is totally against what weve all been taught about gun safety. So for the sake of this article, I will take their side in defense. They are training to know when to shoot and not to shoot. They are building up their confidence level. (Instructors and shooters)
What if this video was highlighting our "Blue Light" tactical team predecessor of the secretive Delta Force. Blue Light was not officially on the books in its beginnings. They had to jump through bureaucratic hoops to prove their capabilities.
Overcoming live fire hostage rescue scenarios with a real person next to it was the norm. If you were watching the video, would you still think that this was the most absurd thing to watch in the name of safety? See the rest of this live fire gun training.
The guys walking across the field of fire should be on their cell phones. Would be more realistic.
I assumed there was a purpose to this when I saw it. I recall the Army or USMC used to live fire over peoples heads. They are obviously doing it for a purpose, so if they think it helps...I would have no say.
Lol, or better, the shooters should be on THEIR cell phones!
Presumably they take turns being the walkers.
It appears to me that the shooters are probably watching the walkers more than the targets, knowing they may be the next walkers.
Nah it’s a firing squad that’s just bad at shooting.
The title of this is silly.
It’s a training exercise for Russian FSB operatives.
Tough SOBs, for sure.
Reminds me of Clint Eastwoods DI character in Heartbreak ridge where he live fires an AK-47 over his mens heads to familiarize them with their opponents basic weapon.
As an RO (trained for cowboy action shooting) I cringe at this video. But believe it may, someway be a legitimate training exercise. Lord help me I wouldnt want to be involved in it though.
“I recall the Army or USMC used to live fire over peoples heads. They are obviously doing it for a purpose,”
During USMC training in the 1960’s, we crawled through mud & smoke grenades, under barbed wire while a water cooled .30 cal. machine gun was firing over our heads.
The gun barrel was restrained within a rectangular angle iron ‘window’ which prevented the muzzle from being depressed enough to hit any of us...
As long as we stayed UNDER the barbed wire!
;-)
And a few of the shooters Instagramming themselves shooting.
In other words, about average for 'Am Shooting Journal'.
When going into a real hostage situation there are going to be a lot of non shoot targets moving around.
This training appears to be teaching when not to shoot as much of when to shoot.
Why are ruskies packing ARs
We were in the butts at the rifle range with live firing over our heads.
They should be running at the shooters. In dresses.
“Damn it, Carl! If you shoot me I will have your ass !!”
We did it in the 70s too - Army in my case. You never forget the sound of bullets flying overhead, but some of the grenade and arty simulators were a bit too damned close.
I remember that in Jan 81 at Ft Knox basic. I also remember a fire and move where you and a buddy took turns rushing and laying down suppressive fire.
Good question. Weapons familiarization, maybe. Dunno. I’d expect them to be using AKs or some variant thereof, or whatever their current standard issue rifle is.
