That was actually my first thought. The fire didn’t burn anything important. nor could it really, it was in a separate building entirely. But it makes for a great “hey, US TOO!” moment.

That would depend on whether the fire was set by one of the warring sects within Islam, or by someone else.
(E.g. Israel vs. China vs. Russia vs. the US. International Islam has made a LOT of enemies. And such things have classically been considered cause for war: but Islam as such does not have a nation state to declare war on. No caliphate lately, though ISIS had been trying to start one.)

Fire started in two places.
THere were no workers at the church.
Another big church in Paris had been arsoned a week earlier but was put out before much damage.
Friday one mohammedan beeyotch got sentence to 8 yrs in prison for attempting to ram a car bomb into Notre Dame 3 years before, a car full of gas cans.
There were on the average THREE church attacks of one kind or another in the last year.
No on can tell me it’s not mohammedans. Don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining, either.
There was renovation going on there when I was there in 2013, as well as many other churches and cathedrals at the time, including Rouen. I remember one of our guides telling us about the cost and length of such renovations.
