Dear How to Do It,

I am a single woman in her early 30s. I’m attractive and have never had issues attracting a partner. But after a series of disappointing relationships, each around a year, I’m just not in a mood to engage emotionally with men right now. The thing is, I have a high sex drive, and I can’t fully satisfy myself on my own—though believe me, I try. The cliché is that this should be an easy problem to fix: Plenty of men want to have sex with a woman with no strings, right? Here are my limitations: In the past, when I’ve had hookup buddies, I like them, but it never really is just sex—we inevitably get to know each other better and then I end up getting entangled with him, whether I want to or not. I also am not really into sex parties or the poly scene; for better or worse, I like the intimacy of one-on-one connections, even if all I want is sex right now.

She's lying about something.

Either she's not that attractive, has a serious mental problem that's warding off men. Or has body odor.

Or not an original female.

No seriously handsome woman in any of the watering holes I've been to in my thirty something years of dating ever went home alone if she was loving for love, one night stands or not.

I believe she getting hit on by plenty of men, just not the men she's interested in. And she has high expectations in her potential dates... so high that even if the Brad Pitt's or George Clooney's asked her out she would turn them down.

That's assuming this story is real and not just "click bait"

That's a very interesting observation, and most probably correct.

You are correct! If she kept her legs together and became friends with a man first rather than sleeping with him right off the bat she might stop having bad relationships and may find marrying material. Then all the sex she wants to have is right there for her. I suspect though the married life would not suit her and her lack of discipline and the man would be cautious after hearing about her past proclivities. More than likely her inability to say no doomed her other relationships.

The funny thing is, sometimes the thing that attracted her to you in the first place is the very thing she wants to go away.

THAT part I don't get at all.

I've read that the verb desire there is the same one used when God warned Cain "Sin's desire is for you; but you must master it."

Ya, that’s very odd.
