After making 22 movies that tell one cohesive story, while grossing almost $20 billion worldwide along the way, whats Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige doing next? The same thing all over againwith a whole new set of toys.
The April 26 release of Avengers: Endgame will bring closure to the first 11 years of Marvel Studios films. Then, in 2020, the company will start Phase Four of its Cinematic Universe, the next chapter of the larger story with new heroes, all of which will feel the impact of the events of the past. Plus, now that Disney has acquired 20th Century Fox, those stories could potentially include the X-Men. According to Feige, though, fans should not hold their breath for that.

I think Phase 4 will go full-blown SJW - and may end up going Solo to the Disney box office.
It is funny....another thread of FReepers who do not like the Marvel movies coming here to tell us that they do not like Marvel movies.
It reminds me of the Apple people who need to go to every Microsoft thread to recite why they hate Microsoft.
Laz, Guardians and Thor Ragnorak are my favorites. Funny, clever, with bright colors.
I rather liked it. In fact, I feel he coined a word: Starkiness.
I do want to see The Joker movie though.
Maybe I’m showing my age, but the new Joker movie reminds me of a slightly “more” version of Falling Down.
I agree that Robert Downey, Jr. was perfect in the role of Tony Stark. I had never thought of him as much of an actor until he was cast as Stark. And I also liked his playing of Sherlock Holmes in those two movies.
You know, I hadn’t even thought of the anti-MAGA bent of the Skrulls until you mentioned it. It does make sense though, especially if they wanted to stick a jsb in at the president. However, despite the fact that I now know what that may be, I’m going to choose to ignore it. I guess I’m one of the few FReepers who actually liked Captain Marvel. I will own this film when it comes out on blu-ray. And I am really, really looking forward to Avengers:Endgame.
There's nothing funnier than someone complaining that a superhero movie has a plot point that they found hard to believe.
Yeah, that fight scene was amazing. :)
Thank you for all the history and your comic book knowledge is extremely impressive.
Yes I am aware of the leftist messaging in these movies and it really upsets me. Please don’t think that I ignore it, the movies are really good which I guess makes these subtle messages even more seductive. However, the movies contain other virtues and messages which are not on the left so probably for the average audience it all just sails over their heads.
Having the villains in Captain Marvel refer to Earth as a “shithole” was also offensive because the writers obviously think they are so clever and snarky and the word was excessively vulgar for that film. But if I didn’t know they were mocking Trump (in an idiotic way) it was funny in the context of the movie.
My wife and I are binge steaming on all seasons of Agents of Shield, and in season 5 it’s really offensive that Hydra is being compared to Trump and using phrases like “make our world great again”. But the series is excellent. The problem is liberals have no boundaries and they infect everyone with their opinions.
One problem you face is that which ever version of a story you see 1st is likely to be your favorite. That is affecting a lot of fans of the Marvel movies. I can think of many examples where I saw a sequel before the original and as a result I always viewed the sequel as the real movie. Not modern sequels, all of which I reject because I saw the originals. I’m thinking of Destry or Destry Rides Again. I saw the Audey Murphy version and loved it. As a result I can’t enjoy the original as much. I think the true original is Marlena Dietrich and Jimmy Stewart (or is it Gary Cooper) which I should enjoy even more but I don’t.
Speaking as a person who was never familiar with Danvers from the comics, Brie Larson worked really well both for her attractiveness and she played it tough enough. I was more of a DC comic guy but we are in an alternate universe for me because now Marvel is the far superior movie and DC movies suck. They’ve really ruined Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Flash, so many heroes that I loved in the comics.
Thanks for listening to my rant.
Just to add a story from the deep past, when I was a kid in the early sixties my father knew a guy (who we said was a gypsy), he would go around and pound out dents in cars. He loved comic books so much, he was happy to be paid in comic books. So many of those great classics went to this guy for fixing our cars.
I tries to like black panther but couldn’t. I loved, LOVED Guardians one and two.
Captain Marvel waw good. Definitely worth watching.
I think they will do fine. The movies are pretty watchable
It would have been plausible if they were completely secret. The comic book story is good. The movie not so much
I refuse to watch more Guardians of the Galaxy after Star Lord screwed up taking the glove from Thanos!
I know they’re at the point of desperation to get a successful Fantastic Four on the board. If they go up against Galactus, Eater of Worlds, I want to see the full-on psychedelic Steve Ditko treatment where the slow face reveal is...Stan Lee!
