If you still wondered what kind of opposition POTUS Donald Trump faces on a daily basis to any and all of his efforts to staunch the flow of illegal immigration and regain operational control over our southwest border, this will serve as just the latest example.
In a highly improper and extremely controversial move, the Marine Corps top commander, Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. Robert Neller, let a pair of internal memos leak to NBC News and the Los Angeles Times in an attempt to embarrass his commander-in-chief over is decision to shift some Pentagon funding to border wall construction, Newsweek is reporting.
In particular, Neller is upset that funding to repair one of the services two primary training bases, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, following Hurricane Florence which damaged more than 900 buildings at the base still hasnt arrived six months later.

Until the one star mosys into an unauthorised area in a combat zone and doesnt know the countersign.
Yes. Some of them are that stupid. I still chuckle when I remember how my O-3 was respectfully trying fervently to try to explain how close he came to getting shot.
24 & carry on!
I was in the Marines during the Carter Administration.
Right behind you under Reagan.
Semper Fi.
Now look into what actually happened and what the good General actually said.
Stop believing NBC and the LAT.
They lie.

“The ONLY thing marines are good for is cannon fodder.”
That’s pure bullshit you lowlife coward. They fight and win battles that nobody else can. They also happen to be thee most universally intellectual of the military. Nobody had a force wide professional reading list until the USMC started it. The doggies STILL can’t read or really fight that well. The USAF hates CAS and the navy puts on tranny shows on ships driven by women.
Military pros will tell you anything from full Colonel (Captain in Navy; Group Captain in AF) and higher is purely political.......only master politicians reach General/Admiral........
I did not realize that leaking your whining to the press was what "Good Generals" do.
Thanks for the enlightenment.
We have an incursion leading to a full-blown invasion on the southern border.
We may have to resort to on-the-job training for marines and, heaven forbid, delay building the new Officer's Club.
First and foremost, everyone is political, whether personally with respect to career or broader in terms of national/foreign policy participation. While I would concede there are some patriotic hard-ons sprinkled throughout the armed forces, the most officers are just as ambitious - if not more so - than any career minded professional.
That means they do what is required to be promoted, to gain further responsibility, to generate more income, and to establish an exist basis in private industry.
In terms of actually fighting, the military is only interested in activities that directly involve force. That is, they get to pit their organization and weapons against like. What the MIC doesn't have any interest in doing - nada, nothing, zilch - is addressing non-military threats to national sovereignty.
That's a career killing dead end for a couple of reasons. One, the MIC follows civilian, political command - if the USG is going to allow population substitution and legal change to the point it's no longer the same country, that's not the MIC's responsibility. Two, combating a silent invasion doesn't test/tax/stress the countless $trillions spent on developing organizations capable of meeting force with force.
Ultimately, this is why every empire has failed: through internal corrosion. It's almost laughable how stupid Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan were in mounting such crude, low brow attempts towards dominance.
Islam, MX and China are showing the way how it's actually done. As we can in any theater we choose to evaluate, there is absolutely no resistance to these threats. That means they are winning - and winning means dictating terms.
But, again, the MIC doesn't care who is giving the orders, as long as personnel are able to continue pursuing their individual career goals.
I bet you didn’t even serve.
I said ‘might have been right’. You are making the point I was making, that whether he was right or wrong was irrelevant. He reported to the Commander in Chief and thus was disciplined according to his insubordination. This General is along the lines of a super arrogant commander, as MacArthur was, who assumed he was smarter than his Commander.
I totally get why the military is against the use of Military money for the wall, I get that. But this kind of BS has got to stop.
I wish I could meet you face to face; if, in fact you have a face and are not just a total @ss!
As the father of two Marines, you sir are an idiot.
Those highly ranked men with the costume jewelry on their shoulders **KNEW** that those birth documents were FAKE!
These preening weenies let their lower level military get killed and maimed by insane rules of engagement ordered by a usurper.
I did not realize that leaking your whining to the press was what “Good Generals” do.
He didnt leak anything. He wrote an assessment of the funding situation at the request of the Joint Chiefs. It was a public document that NBC and the LAT used to stir up trouble.
In short, they lied.
And you fell for it hook, line, and sinker.

Don’t forget. Obama literally forced a lot of conservative military leaders to resign and replaced them with his sycophants and we are seeing the aftereffects of this.

“In a highly improper” move
You said:
“This is an actionable offense. Trump should fire this man.”
Exactly.
Remember, they are not all the same.
You know I won’t call you a moronic a-hole like others do, I’ll just say you are a delusional low-information rube and leave it at that.
A company friend of mine was on guard duty at a one of the ammo dumps at Lejeune back in the 70’s.
The OD came by during the middle of the night as per usual.
The guard at the gate, my friend, challenged him as per usual, “Halt! Who goes there?”
OD, an O-3, IRRC, “Officer of the day!”
Guard, “Advance and be recognized!”
OD advances and stops in front of the guard, reaches for his wallet to show his ID then suddenly realizes he has forgotten his wallet.
I think you can guess what happen after that!................
Learned that many many years ago. Through my dad’s Navy career and my time in the Navy. Politics as usual. Possibly why he never made Admiral.
Pull a star and retire the rascal.
