Marines’ TOP general let internal memo leak opposing Trump’s use of funds for border wall

If you still wondered what kind of opposition POTUS Donald Trump faces on a daily basis to any and all of his efforts to staunch the flow of illegal immigration and regain operational control over our southwest border, this will serve as just the latest example.

In a highly improper and extremely controversial move, the Marine Corps’ top commander, Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. Robert Neller, let a pair of internal memos leak to NBC News and the Los Angeles Times in an attempt to embarrass his commander-in-chief over is decision to shift some Pentagon funding to border wall construction, Newsweek is reporting.

In particular, Neller is upset that funding to repair one of the service’s two primary training bases, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, following Hurricane Florence — which damaged more than 900 buildings at the base — still hasn’t arrived six months later.

There hasn’t been a decent one since Schwarzkopf. Not a one. Since then it’s been a stream of pussy politicians with degrees from Georgetown and JFK school of government. And every single one of them is on board for globalism, treason, homos and trannies, and women in combat units.

All our domestic enemies feel encouraged to do what they can.

They KNOW they are at war against America and all for which we stand.

““Try a little research, cave man. The good General was doing exactly what he’s paid to do. Go read the “leaked” memo for yourself.”

Thank you for sharing that. Everyone tends to jump the gun without doing their research. Almost liberal like.....”

Possibly, but since “...provide for the common defense..” was a primary consideration, and though voted into being, the social programs that suck more money from a bloated budget and tilt America toward socialism were not, this should be a fundamental no brainer.

Of course since the dims want and have wanted nothing more than to abrogate the Constitution, turn the country into a malleable democracy cum socialist state, anything that causes the president trouble is just peachy.

Imagine that? A general not wanting his budget used for other purposes? Hardly news?

This Marine commandant is close to retirement, his successor has already been chosen. He’ll be gone in the next few weeks.

Sounds like a General MacArthur type of situation. MacArthur might have been right, but he did serve at the discretion of the Commander in Chief and was dealt with accordingly.

Leaking memos to NBC and the LAT about the highly politicized border wall seems a bit sleezy regardless of hurricane relief.

That may be the reason for :

(March 27) Former recon Marine Lt. Gen. David H. Berger nominated to be next Marine Corps commandant.

Former recon Marine Lt. Gen David H. Berger has been nominated to replace Gen. Robert B. Neller as the next top Marine.

In other words: You're Fired!

Obama fired a ton of GOOD generals.

If I remember correctly, one of the search criteria was whether or not they would be willing to fire on US citizens.

If they said they would not they were fired.

NO he didn’t The General didn’t simply relate what projects he would have to put on hold. He editorialized WHY he thought the exercises in Scotland and Norway were so critical. He was arguing against the policy.

There was a time when the USMC was America’s pitbull, straining on a leash, leaning forward. Now the most critical mission in America, and he is whining that actual work is getting in the way of training in fun places and painting the base.

The good General was doing exactly what he’s paid to do.

Really? From the article:

For those who have never been in the military, it’s highly improper for personnel — especially a ranking officer — to disparage the commander-in-chief, even anonymously, and even if you disagree with him. The CinC issues the orders, the officers relay those orders to the appropriate units, and the units carry them out without hesitation and without ‘feedback.’

I can't say I disagree with that.

I really THOUGHT I loved Generals.

Generals are military, and military is patriotism:

I was that simple.

But the past 5 years or so have shown me that I HATE most Generals.

Generals are basically POLITICIANS, and most of them are LIBERAL.

Agreed. “Trump’s Generals” have to be the most disloyal group of climbing careerists in American history. He has massively increased their budget and what do they do? Spit in his face. Over and over. And of course look at how they prostrated themselves before the American hating kenyan.

Now the USAF brass wants $5 BILLION to repair bases and the USMC wants nearly $4 BILLION to repair ONE base damaged by a hurricane. Fight endless wars in the ME, etc. No thanks.

How did leaking internal memos comport with “doing exactly what he’s paid to do”?

The objection is not a problem - the release is.

The release is actionable.

If a general had done this to the Halfrican, the Media would have screamed about it 24/7 till the culprit was fired.

I don’t care why he thought he needed to leak the document, the fact is he did. As the commandant of the marines he should remain publicly apolitical. If he wanted to express his concerns to the president directly that is fine, but if he doesn’t understand that leaking a memo trashing the POTUS or his policies to the left leaning press is stupid, then he’s too dumb to command anything. He let his own personal feelings impair his judgement. He should be retired.

Fire him immediately. That general would never tolerate such behavior from one of his own subordinates.

First of all you have to realize that this is a hit piece to create discord between Trump and anyone not Trump. The General “let leak” is rather passive implying without stating that he actively sought to have the memos leaked.
I have little truck for flag officers most of whom are political. But the leftist media is not interested in the well-being of the Marine Corps. They are interested in getting the insane orange one out of office.

Problem is we’ve got a pattern here. Mattis did the same. These guys are political animals and it’s always a knife in the back in the dark of night. POTUS does not play for team Deep State and they hate him for that.

With their constant undermining of the CIC it does seem the military brass is pining for a return to a DOD budget slashing Democrat administration. How pathetic is that?
