So, there is a special election in my district tomorrow to state representative for my district...
The republican running is a hack named Raja... He's run for this seat before and lost to the incumbent, he's running on his "business" experience, which I know first hand is shady as the day is long.... Yes the business is successful, but its in my industry, and I can tell you, they are slimy.
However, that's rally here nor there as to the reason i am writing this. ..
Anyway, after getting several unsolicited texts from various GOP groups pushing Raja.. I am a registered Republican and vote.. I got one today from "American's for Prosperity".... which for those of you who don't know, they are one of, if not the, biggest group backed by the KOCH brothers.....
Well, normally I just ignore these texts, they are simply being sent out by volunteers on their personal phones or burner phones, and the people sending them really have no sway on anything... However, given the Koch brothers are probably the biggest reasons nothing has been done to stem the systemic exportation of wealth, and destruction of the working class, particularly the lower end working classes, with their support open borders, etc... I just had to respond...
They Koch brothers refuse to support MAGA, and actively oppose the wall, they with the Chamber of Commerce, are no less evil than Soros on man fronts. So, knowing this is just some lacky on the other end, I had to respond...
"As long as the Koch brothers continue to not back the wall or Trump please do not contact me again."
I know it won't make any difference, but I must say personally, it gave me almost as much personal joy to send this text, as it did when I responded to one from MOVE ON last presidential election, trying to convince me to vote for Hillary...
You stand up when and where you can.
Just vote for the Republican, if not for the person, but to get R majority. You can see how destructive a Dem majority is.
This sounds like last-minute Democrat attack.
:: ...I am a registered Republican... ::
I think I see your problem here.
Why would you tell an ^appointed^ official of the gummint _who_ you choose to associate with?
This sounds like last-minute Democrat attack.

The Koche bros are Uniparty so, basically the same thing as dems.
If I received such a text from a RINO, I would probably respond as you did. I never respond to the ones I get from ‘rats. Apparently, some ‘rat used to have my phone #, and I get texts from various ‘rat campaigns during elections. I like to see what they are sending out, so I just keep them.
So you’ll be supporting the Democrat this time around?
Every mailer I get from the NRSC, NRCC, RNC or outside Cheap Labor Express groups like American for Prosperity (Koch) and American Crossroads (Rove) , the reply they get is an envelope full of reasons why they will get no money.
Depending on his state, it may be a requirement to vote in a primary. It would certainly be a party requirement as well to participate in any other binding party activities like a convention.
We can also see how “helpful” Bush League Republicans are and have been.
Bush League Republicans MUST be replaced before we lose our country.
Only God knows whether what we did today will make a different in the future.
I’m not zealot :)
It’s just the truth.
It might open the eyes of someone volunteering, and if they get enough letters like yours then perhaps more than a few volunteers will further investigate what the Koch brothers really stand for.
Anything is possible.
We usually never find out how the seeds we planted end up growing :)
If we keep re-electing Bush League Republicans, we will lose our country.
For 2020, the ones up are, Flimsey Grahamnesty, Thom Tillis, Gardner, McSally, Daines, Collins, Cornyn, Capito, Enzi, Rounds, Sasse, Hyde-Smith, McConnell.
They all should have primary challengers.
They are all Bush League Republicans.
The only ones worthy of re-election are Inhofe, Sullivan, Cotton, Perdue, Risch, Ernst and Cassidy.
“Bush League Republicans MUST be replaced before we lose our country.”
Replaced by Democrats???!!!
Sure, Democrats will save our country. Is that your point?
Maybe you should be posting at DU, not FR.
Because in PA we have closed primaries, as it should be. If you aren’t a member of the club, you don’t get to pick who the club puts up as a candidate.
If you want to register unaffiliated or independent, that’s your choice, but in PA it means you get ZERO say in who you will get to vote for in the general election.
Bush League Republicans are Democrats in R jerseys.
They want to give the Democrats a PERMANENT majority with amnesty for illegal aliens.
They need to be replaced with real Republicans that side with the citizens and the rule of law.
I honestly haven’t decided if I am going even vote, its a state senate seat, and the GOP is PA has been in solid control for 20+ years, and has done some shady ass things. Like give us the highest gas taxes in the country AND made the PA turnpike the most expensive toll road of its size in the country per mile, with little to no visibile benefit once you get out of the Philly and harrisburg areas.
Raja is a slimeball... Just because he’s got an R beside his name doesn’t mean I will vote for him... If I didn’t personally know how slimy he is, I probably would just pull the GOP lever without thought, but I know this guy and his business personally, and he’s a slimeball, and if the KOCH brothers are backing him, he’s definitely not to be trusted, because should any vote hit the PA Senate that supported immigration enforcement he won’t back it...
Primaries are popularity contests, not elections.
“Vote” in your primary all you want...it does not elect anyone to office.
We’d be better off with smoky backrooms choosing the candidates...like Hillary did with Bernie.
Slime or not, Koch or not, the Indian immigrant looks better than the Democrat.
Got a ...
Say: I received an...
So, there is a special...
Say: There is a special election...
