YouTube Demonetized My Entire Channel — and You Won’t Believe Why
The Stream ^ | 3/13/19 | Dr. Michael Brown

Posted on 03/15/2019 12:43:36 PM PDT by OddLane

I was getting ready for my radio show on Monday when I spotted an announcement on the AskDrBrown YouTube channel. The entire channel — now, almost 1,600 videos — has been demonetized.

By now, I’ve been used to the constantly changing standards of YouTube, not to mention the non-existent customer service.

I’m talking about YouTube approving a video one day that speaks out against abortion while telling me the next day that a generic video where I answer caller questions about the Bible is not suitable for most advertisers.

As I’ve written before, if it wasn’t so ridiculous, it would be funny...

The oppression is ramping up.

And Republican leaders say nothing.

... generic video where I answer caller questions about the Bible is not suitable for most advertisers...uh, here's an idea - why not let the advertisers decide that for themselves?......

You get what you pay for.

Use FB to post stuff about the site you actually pay for. Just snippets.

Why are people using Youtube in the first place? They do nothing to promote your video, they don’t pay you beforehand to make them, they take a cut of the ad revenue you generate, they do absolutely nothing other than act as a video storage site

The only way to put a stop to this is to have these corporate censors all to be ‘Public Utilities’...................

I find it very suspicious of YouTube to demonetize many of the channels that I subscribe to and watch, but yet I still see advertising on those channels.

So which is it? Either the content isn't appealing to advertisers, so it gets demonetized and should become ad-free, or ads continue to run and the channel gets its cut.

YouTube now has it both ways. They demonetize the channel, and they still run ads on the channel.

“The oppression is ramping up. And Republican leaders say nothing.”

True. I expect the goose-stepping fascists in control of big tech to go whole hog in their censorship in the lead up to 2020.

They don’t just continue to run ads, they run MULTIPLE ads in a row now. They run different ads until you tell them to stop!

Youtube and similar companies do not want customer interaction or influence. They want to tell you what to do without thinking it through. The IT business with small customers/vendors has been going on for more than 50 years now and it is only in the last few years that a work category called UX (user experience) has emerged, and that is mainly for how people respond to Internet website interfaces (what you see). They have no incentive to change their practices unless they lose money or are regulated.

Excellent analysis.

"They don’t just continue to run ads, they run MULTIPLE ads in a row..."

Indeed, and sometimes it gets absolutely ridiculous. I was watching an 11 minute video the other day, and they had 8 ads run during it. One of them is a 43 FORTY THREE minute ad that they tried to run twice, and a 27 minute video they tried to run twice, and then four others of a sane length.

At least they do give you the option to skip the ads after five seconds. That will probably soon stop though, I bet.

I usually let the ones shorter than a minute run... I don't expect ot be entertained or informed 'free'.

The one that annoys me most is the five and a half minute video about some Chinese Circus type thing. For the last month or so they try to get me to watch that about ten times in a typical hour.

Yes. Can you imagine your phone company or your insurance company cancelling your service simply because they don’t like your politics or religion?

This is what Gaggle, Twatter and FakeBook are doing.

Check Out Gab.Com and their new Dissenter app. It allows you to post comments on web sites that do not allow comments. Great fun
