Another day to celebrate a President who loves America, fights for We the People, and is as smart a sea captain as they come!
Seems like more than a few FReepers love the landscape art from the Hudson River School painters. Here's another one. Enjoy... and contemplate how lucky we are to have this fine, conscientious and wise man WORKING FOR US!
MAGA, my FRiends.
William Stanley Hazeltine (1835 — 1900) was an American painter associated with tbhe Hudson River School, a mid-19th century art movement of landscape painters influenced by Romanticism.
Born in Philadelphia, he studied at the University of Pennsylvania and then Harvard, receiving a degree in 1854. Soon after, he sailed to Europe, first joining a colony of American painters studying in Dusseldorf, then traveling into Switzerland and Italy. In late 1857 he settled in Rome, and made numerous excursions to draw landscapes around Rome and on Capri.
Returning to America in 1858, Haseltine joined several American landscape painters in New York City including Frederic Church and Albert Bierstadt. Though many of his paintings from this time derived from his European sketches, Haseltine also began to paint the oceanside of New England.

WOW!!! That beautiful painting says so much about Our President...the ship in the back ground reminds me of the Pilgrams coming to build a new nation; the clouds are a warning to law breakers that have tried so hard to ruin Our Country; the dog is a calming effect to Our President saying: “ I’ve got this”.... Pefect picture!!!
Great, HL27. So pleased you like it. Big cats, noble dogs are a match with our President.
Nice. Trump is as solid as a rock...
A side bar note: Venezuelans, Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Haitians, Mexicans, all Hispanics, all Latinas, all Americans...ALL, our great & terrific POTUS, Donald J. Trump will be speaking to the American Venezuelan community today down in Miami Florida at 4:00 PM today (02/18/2019) in the Florida International University, main campus in Sweetwater inside the FIU Ocean Bank Convocation Center, located at the MMC.
Be there to support our POTUS, Trump in calling for Venezuela to become a free state, a Democracy, that can be allowed to reach all of its positive potential having freedom, liberty, opportunity, individual equality and a fair, duly elected Democratic Republic. Cubans, also, should be there in force, pushing and urging our POTUS to overthrow the Castro regime and let Cuba & Venezuela become the great economic and free nations they surely can be. Go...POTUS, Trump...Make all the Americas great, free, productive, succesfull in support of their own people & great destiny..period!!! Be there folks by the thousands!! Do it!!!
My husband and I were lighthouse keepers for a week for the Rose Island Light in Narragansett Bay about 15 years ago. It was December and we had the island all to ourselves. We had a snow storm that week too and we experience what life was like in the 19th century. No people, no electric light, keeping warm by the wood stove. Brought over in a lobster boat with our supplies including food and lots of wine. Heaven!
I was born and raised on Cape Cod. The winter is a great time to live close to the Atlantic and by the seashore. Emerson had a word or two about it:
The water drowns ship and sailor, like a grain of dust. But learn to swim, trim your bark, and the ship will cleave the wave in two that drowned it, and carry it, like its own foam, a plume and a power.
The cold is inconsiderate of persons, tingles your blood, freezes a man like a dew-drop. But learn to skate, and the ice will give you a graceful, sweet, and poetic motion. The cold will brace your limbs and brain to genius, and make you foremost men of time.
From sea to shining sea.
From Bangor all the way to mighty Maine!
Etc. lies a milk man white with foam. etc.
Very nice!
Nice atmosphere, clouds, sun!
