In a late Friday tweet, President Trump has teased what he calls a ‘major announcement’ about the Southern border and the government shutdown tomorrow afternoon at 3 pm.

I will be making a major announcement concerning the Humanitarian Crisis on our Southern Border, and the Shutdown, tomorrow afternoon at 3 P.M., live from the @WhiteHouse.
Trump should declare a national emergency, shift funds out of the Pentagon, build The Great Wall, open the government and charge Democrats with finding excuses not to secure our border because they have a demographic and ideological interest in changing the face of the nation.
The decisive issues on which Trump was elected are not the old Republican litany of tax cuts, conservative judges and increased defense spending.
They were securing the borders, extricating America from foolish wars, eliminating trade deficits with NAFTA nations, the EU and China, making allies pay their fair share of the common defense, resurrecting our manufacturing base, and getting along with Russia.
“America First!” is still a winning hand.

If he does emergency funding, wouldn’t this automatically go to one of our liberal circuit courts on appeal, where it could tied up in litigation indefinitely?
Once we get the wall, immigration reform needs to be passed and then we need to go on hunts for those who did not turn up for their asylum hearings and toss them out.
Well President Trump did tweet out a video message about 10 min ago about how we need a strong border, how gangs, drugs, etc are entering our country, so it does NOT sound like he is backing down. He also said that many Dems agree with him and have told him so in private but wont say it publicly because they are afraid. I think tomorrow he declares a national emergency that is my guess

Putting the government back to work while relying on the courts not to stop you is foolish. Please do not do that.
I don’t know if goes automatically, but if he does issue an EO and declare a state of emergency it’s going to be pretty useless if he doesn’t ignore the activist judges. I’m no lawyer, but I really can’t fathom how a state of emergency can be superseded by a wacko judge.

He might just disregard the courts. Constitutionally he could do that. Opens up a whole new can of worms though.
