Government Shutdown, Day um, what day is it? 28? 29? This fake, partial, sort of shutdown of parts of a quarter of the federal government has now dragged on so long its become impossible to keep up anymore.
But oh, what a glorious fake government shutdown it became on Thursday. That day, January 17, 2019, will be remembered into posterity as the date when this became, without any doubt at all, the greatest, most entertaining government shutdown in the history of all government shutdowns.
Just a day after Speaker San Fran Nan sent over a petty and utterly dishonest letter to the White House informing President Donald Trump that she was rescinding her invitation to deliver his state of the union message to a joint session of congress in the House chamber on January 29, President Trump responded with a petty but honest act of his own, denying Pelosi and several other Democrat congressmen and women the use of a military aircraft for a six-day international boondoggle theyd had planned for weeks.
Where Pelosi cited false concerns about security in her Wednesday letter which were quickly debunked by the Secret Service Trump cited the need for Pelosi to remain in Washington DC while 800,000 federal employees continued to work without pay thanks to her refusal to negotiate over the border security issue. Thus, a petty and dishonest act generated a petty and completely honest response.
Of course, when San Fran Nan sent her despicable letter, the fake news media parroted the Democrat talking points, calling it an impressive power play and couching it in other glowing terms. The fake medias response to Trumps letter was also a parroting of Democrat talking points, because thats what the fake news media does.
In any event, there is no question that the President hit Pelosi where it really hurts. She is infamous for abusing the privilege of commandeering military aircraft for her personal use. During her first stint as Speaker, she abused the privilege to fly across the continent to her San Francisco home and back to D.C. multiple times every month.
What most in the media are missing about this particular, specific retaliation from the President is that it represents a shot across the bow at Pelosi. This was not just about the fake shutdown this was President Trump putting her and her colleagues that he is fully aware of their chronic abuse of military assets, a practice he could end entirely with the stroke of a presidential pen. You can bet bug-eyed Adam Schiff who, along with his colleagues had already boarded the bus to Andrews Joint Airbase when Trumps letter was released took notice of this reality and is not happy about it either.
And guess what else? All those Republicans whining about the Presidents actions today also understand the reality of what this specific action really was, and they arent happy about the prospect of losing that privilege, either. Are you listening, Lindsey Graham?
Call the President petty if you like, but doing that without also acknowledging Pelosis more reprehensible act of pettiness, or recognizing the full implication of the Presidents using this specific action as a negotiating tactic just completely misses the point here.
And speaking of Pelosis fake security issues Yours truly traveled through not one, but two major U.S. airports on Thursday. You know the airports that are supposedly near the breaking point, with angry air traffic controllers and TSA agents calling in sick by the thousands, according to your fake news media?
Yeah, those airports. Anyway, I traveled through two of them yesterday and encountered not a single solitary issue. No angry TSA agents, no long waits at security, no long lines at check-in, no delays at baggage claim, no nothing.
If anything, the TSA agents I encountered were cheerful and more helpful than normal. Obviously, they cant be happy about missing a paycheck, but the reality is this: all those alarmist reports you are seeing on your local and national news media about chaos at the nations airports are nothing more than steaming piles of fresh horse manure.
Now, if Pelosi forces this thing to linger on for another month, some spots of chaos could begin to develop in this regard. But the Administration has all sorts of options that enable it to prevent that from happening.
As is always the case, your fake news media is lying to you. Because, that is who they are, and it is what they do.
That is all.

One thing I have learned from the shutdown is how many local charities depend on government handouts for a good portion of their operating money. On the news (Houston) lately they have been running stories about all the places that are worried about what they’re going to do if the shutdown continues. I guess it’s a tactic by the media to make us feel mad about the shutdown but it looks to me like people and their causes have become comfortable taking tax payer money.
They call Trump’s act as petty as Nancy’s initial act...I call it poetic justice.

Thank you for this heads up! My morning ritual is not complete until I have had the privilege of reading your words of wit and wisdom, Sir. I mean that in all sincerity.
Have a great day and weekend!
God Bless America!
Classic last night of Fox News Special Report.
On the Panel, Charlie Hurt made that statement that outside of D.C., the country wasn’t really feeling the effects of the shut down - EB Stoddard almost jumped out of her chair!
“That’s not true, people are hurting...(paraphrased)”
Bunk. Paid vacation for furloughed; delay in pay for working essential people. (I still love that 95% of EPA not considered essential - you know, with global warming and all.)
Google it - many, many Banks and Credit Unions have both cheap (very cheap) short term loans for these 800,000 and most banks are allowing late payments on loans for that group without penalty.
More, they will all get paid! Law is already passed and signed by Trump for those working through the shutdown.
(Well, in little slight of hand, new law does not cover furloughed workers - I’m sure they will get paid, unless.... after 30 days, Trump can technically do reduction in force (RIF) of furloughed workers after 30 days. Can’t imagine he would hit that hard - but it is a bargaining chip with the Democrats!)
True, sucks to wait a few weeks, but as the Angel Moms said (parents of those killed by illegal aliens) - their kids will never get a check again.
What about this “shutdown”?
None dare refer to the most costly and disgraceful results from a shutdown that happened during Nixons presidency. Caused by the democrats refusal to stand by the Vietnamese effort to remain independent by refusing them air support and supplemental funding of arm supplies which would have prevented that loss and that humiliating disgraceful evacuation of our Saigon embassy.
Which quickly then resulted in a multitude of Vietnamese being slaughtered and the sacrifices of thousands of our armed forces paying with their 58,000 lives assisting them in their fight for freedom dishonored..
Great article!
Time to start taking away all the deep state toys. They have abused and enslaved the American people for too long.
Yeah, I am still hurting from Oblathercare. Nobody sheds a tear for me.
Probably mostly charities “serving” illegal immigrants.
