A short film by Gillette, a manufacturer of mens shaving products, tells men to shun toxic masculinity and the same old excuses for male behavior.
The film, We believe: The Best Men Can Be, posted on the companys Facebook page, begins by referencing Gillettes slogan, The best a man can get, while invoking the #MeToo movement against sexual harassment:
Bullying. The Me, Too movement against sexual harassment. Toxic masculinity is the best a man can get? Is it?
We cant hide from it. Its been going on far too long. We cant laugh it off. Making the same old excuses: Boys will be boys.
The video displays text of three, presumably male, comments:
Everybody hates you, Youre such a loser and Sissy.
Enough is enough, Gillette declares, calling men to speak and act The right way:
But, something finally changed. And there will be no going back.
.
To say the right thing; to act the right way.
Some already are. In ways big and small. But, some is not enough. Because the boys watching today will be the men of tomorrow.

Well, maybe Wilkinson Sword paid for the Gillette ad?

Someone suggested the Schick Titanium to me. They last longer and have a fine set of wires across the blades to help protect your face.
I like Harry’s shave cream (which you can’t purchase at Target). I’ve tried Harry’s blades several times & my face always hurts after using their blades.
“If you were a true soyboy you would shave your private parts too.”
Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it. Philips makes a very nice tool for this. Worth the hassle.
Sounds like toxic femininity.
It’s amazing what little they know about men. For every bully their is 10 bully ass kickers. A real man is self sacrificing in every way for his family.
Bald privates - the core of an upstanding army.
Dog collars all around for the sub males bartender.
Once my supply of Gillette blades are gone I’ll be looking for an alternative.
I wear a close Beard nowadays so I only shave my neck and do a little sculpting on my Face. My Electric Trimmer does most of the work.
Then: Gillette, the best a Man can get.
Now: Gillette, the brand a Man forgets.
I picked up a Schick Titanium Quattro yesterday and just finished shaving my head and face - slightly smaller surface than i’m used to but did a good job with decent comfort...plus the starter with 3 blades cost about the same as 2 Gillette blades...would be cheaper to throw the whole thing away and never just buy blades than the Gillette....will be nice paying $2 per blade instead of $5
I had just ordered 15 blades from Amazon. Now I read this. As I only shave in retirement 2-3 days a week they should last me quite a while.
I will keep an eye on what happens over at P&G. I expect theyll fire those who are responsible. If they dont, when the blades run out Ill switch to dollar shave club or perhaps the generic Costcos blades(Kirkland) and handle.
I have been boycotting Levis for 20+ years. I have been boycotting Dicks and Yeti for about a year. I can hold out longer than they can.
It is like their insane take on Trump, accusing him of being a bully, when in fact he is a bully thrasher.
You’ll find the Titanium blades will last for months.
Extra credit: You’ll get an even smoother shave with less razor bumps by picking up a Clarisonic brush and using it to clean your face before shaving.
It’s such a great idea to have women marketing male-shaming to their customers.
If you want to be a soyboy.
Thanks for the tips - instead of “regular shaving cream/gel, I use Shave Secret Shaving Oil - never really had a problem with shave bumps on face or head (I shave both).
Lets hope so!
