Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claims to support worker rights.
However, according to this article that was just published by the New York Daily News, the state of New York fined her campaign $1,500 because it broke the law by not having workers’ compensation coverage.
I guess Ocasio-Cortez supports workers’ rights for all workers except her own.

$1500 bucs. A conservative would be getting a colonoscopy style audit, made to pay all back workers comp, and a fine to boot.

Ocasio-Cortez should be approached with the insights of PT Barnum in mind. “Nobody but nobody every lost any money underestimating the intelligence of the American people.” Barnum inherently understood that if a lie is repeated often enough and with a good presentation, people would eventually come to believe what you were saying however outlandish. It is necessary to mock Ocasio-Cortez savagely in order to stop and delegitimize her.
This is probably a warning shot from her own party.

I agree with you on the beat-up. This is the kind of mistake people make who don’t have a lawyer on staff. Anyone could make this mistake. There are so many laws a wag once said, “We are all doing something against the law at least 15 minutes a day. We don’t even know it.” It is, for example, against the law in Florida to burn anything that is not a “natural” material. They have EPA police with real guns who will come out and sift through your burn pile and criminally charge you for anything not “natural.” This includes cardboard and paper. It includes any treated wood or any normal wood “drop.” (Pine two x fours are forbidden, for example.)
I see builders violating this all the time. I had a friend criminally charged. But if he agreed to pay $1500 and take the early offender intervention course, the criminal arrest would be expunged. He didn’t have the money for the fine or the get-out-of-arrest course. He lost his driver’s license, which is how they collect, then his job, then his wife and he would now be homeless if not for a local church.
Much as I don’t like what AOC is trying to do, I’d give her a pass on this one.

If roles were reversed would the dems give a Repub a pass? They cut us NO slack, we must reciprocate. If you give them a finger nail clipping they will take your hand.
$1500 is absolutely nothing to her campaign. This was more of a “we’ll take care of you no matter what” statement.
That assumes that she is bright enough to “get it.”

You would think voters would reject a pol after realizing this. Democrat voters do not. They don’t see logic. They reject the truth. They will not see reason.
Rules do not apply to them as they do to regular people, even to their supporters. Laws do not apply to them.
Charisma is all that is necessary.
Not any need at all to protect and defend the constitution as is stated in their swearing in, as is what we expect from them. She has not only not even read the constitution, she is not acquainted with it.

Non-stop gratuitous attacks take the emphasis away from substantive policy disagreements you’d like people to listen to. If the public hears a constant stream of attacks and they don’t seem worthwhile or important, they will tune us out. There is plenty to criticize that is important. Remember how going after Clinton for a blow job ruined the conservatives for years? It wasn’t worth the damage it caused. That’s the case here too.
