California Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D) on Wednesday introduced legislation to, once again, push another assault weapons ban, similar to legislation that passed back in 1994.
~~~~SNIP~~~~
Key provisions:
Bans the sale, manufacture, transfer and importation of 205 military-style assault weapons by name. Owners may keep existing weapons.
Bans any assault weapon that accepts a detachable ammunition magazine and has one or more military characteristics including a pistol grip, a forward grip, a barrel shroud, a threaded barrel or a folding or telescoping stock. Owners may keep existing weapons.
Bans magazines and other ammunition feeding devices that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition, which allow shooters to quickly fire many rounds without needing to reload. Owners may keep existing magazines.
Exemptions to bill:
The bill exempts by name more than 2,200 guns for hunting, household defense or recreational purposes. The bill includes a grandfather clause that exempts all weapons lawfully possessed at the date of enactment.
Other provisions:
Requires a background check on any future sale, trade or gifting of an assault weapon covered by the bill.
Requires that grandfathered assault weapons are stored using a secure gun storage or safety device like a trigger lock.
Prohibits the transfer of high-capacity ammunition magazines.
Bans bump-fire stocks and other devices that allow semi-automatic weapons to fire at fully automatic rates.
Yeah well their laws don’t mean anything to me.
This is the third or fourth time she’s introduced this bill. Yawn.
Why is there not a law that puts politicians in prison if they push unconstitutional laws? Try them for betraying their oath of office! If they screw with us, there is no longer a consent of the governed and no reason to follow their laws. Then it is open season. They should be careful what they wish for, but they are too stupid and too evil in most cases.
ChiSpyDiFi?
Gun control is a vote killer even for many Democrats in Congress. But some of them don’t care, because there’s big money in it now. Say hello to the plutocracy that’s looking for a way to take complete control.
The AR acronym stands for Armalite Rifle.
I agree.
The legislation is DOA but it will be a life-giving boost to the firearms industry. :)
“...The legislation is DOA but it will be a life-giving boost to the firearms industry. :)...”
LOL...ain’t that the truth.
Just for giggles, I ordered a couple more mags for my 300BLK...I really didn’t need em, but just as a protest to the vile commie FineSwine. She’s more than welcome to personally come and take em, then stick em up her...whatever...sideways.
amazing how they find the time for useless legislation that will go nowhere, but never have time for more pertinent issues
“What are they going to do when no one registers their firearms or magazines?”
Go on TV and scream, “YOU ARE ALL UNDER ARREST!!!”
;^)
“Why is there not a law that puts politicians in prison if they push unconstitutional laws?”
Good point. Why does society have to wait for bad bills to become law and have bad effects on citizens, before they are ruled unconstitutional by SCOTUS?
The former liberal majority on SCOTUS kept 2A cases from even being heard. That’s changing. When death looses RBG’s grip on her SCOTUS seat, all kinds of gun rights cases will finally be considered.
Feinswine will also die as a rotten failure. How many guns has her anti-2A jihad actually confiscated?
Translation...For now. We'll get back to later on confiscating those, now that we know where they are.
Yes, politicians pushing unconstitutional laws should have the same treatment as the rest of us. You go to prison until your conviction is overruled. And I hope the leftists get their just due and remain in prison.
They’re walls aren’t tall enough .....
Any rifle is just a tool - add the right person to the mix and that constitutes a weapon system. Most socialists haven’t served in the military and don’t know this.
I clean my guns, and I dream of Galveston.
